Autumn in My Heart 5(2)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYT9GAlfvYw

Junsuh walks Yumi back to the hotel.
She says. “Why don’t you tell me she’d be staying with you? I was surprised”
“I’m sorry. Are you crossed?”
“Not at all. I’m glad she’s staying with you. Now you can’t fool around me.” Yumi says not what on her mind. Junsuh laughs.
“I won’t be able to fool around even if she weren’t here. I’m not good around woman.”
“You didn’t forget about going to your old house this weekend, right?”
“Yeah, that’s right.”
“The furniture has arrived.”
“Really? You don’t have to clean up.”
“I want to do it. I want to tidy up your house before your parents come back from America. Would you like to ask about Eunsuh and Taesuk? Four of us go together. What do you think?” Junsuh stops walking and turns to ask her.
“You want Eunsuh to go with us?”
“Eunsuh must have visited you often at that house.” Junsuh stays silence. He’ll never ever take Eunsuh back to those painful memories. His manner arouses her suspicions.
“What’s the matter?”
“Nothing, I don’t think Eunsuh would want to. Let’s just go by ourselves and ask Taesuk whether he wants to go with us.” Junsuh steps on. Yumi wears a smile of satisfaction on her face and walks arm in arm with him.
Eunsuh looks for a job in the papers and underlines the jobs that catch her attention. She looks up at the framed picture of Junsuh and his fiancee. She picks up and lightly wipes it.

Junsuh and Yumi walk up to the hotel.
“Go in now. I still don’t want to go in yet.” Junsuh is about to leave.
“Junsuh, stay with me a little longer. Will Eunsuh be waiting for you? Junsuh nods.
“I guess it’s dangerous for her to stay alone, right?”
“I want to say goodnight to her.”
“You’ll hurry back just to say good night? Fine, you win.” Yumi stretches herself to kiss him and says goodnight.

Junsuh looks at Yumi walk in the hotel. He turns around and starts up to walk, then begins to step faster and finally breaks in a run. He flips on the light as he getting in the house and directs his paces toward Eunsuh’s room. He looks through the glass on the upper part of the door. The light inside is still on. He knocks the door and she answers it. Eunsuh sees him panting and his face bathing in perspiration.
“Obba, you ran back?”
“Yes…”
“How come? Something wrong?”
“…Nothing...I just want to...say goodnight to you.” Eunsuh gives him a smile.
“Goodnight.” Junsuh softly nods and closes the door. Eunsuh calls him.
“I’m really glad I can say goodnight to you again.” his face beams with irresistible delight and slightly nods lower. He looks up to her and says.
“Goodnight.” Junsuh closes the door behind him. Her eyes follow him till he disappears in his room. Eunsuh feels herself smiling. For the very first time since their separation, she feels truly happy. Eunsuh has abided her time to meet him again and to say goodnight as it used to be.

Junsuh is in the class, giving a slide lecture. Taesuk walks in and seated himself on a chair.
Junsuh tells his students. “Next week we’re going to have a test on history of Egyptian Art. That’s it for today.” Junsuh catches a glimpse of his friend. Taesuk waves a greeting.
Both of them walk outside the class.
Junsuh says. “What a good wind brings you here?”
“I’m here for you.”
“What a flatter! Do you have any plan this weekend? Yumi and I are going back to the old house to clean up the house. Do you want to come along?”
“Back home? The old house Eunsuh lived there before? Same town with you?” Junsuh doesn’t answer.
“Eh…can I ask you to do something?” Junsuh stops walking and looks Taesuk in the face. There’s some demureness in his friend’s manner.
“Well, it’s awkward to bring that up…ah…it’s about Eunsuh. Would you tell her that I’m a great guy, worth making relationship?”
Junsuh puts on a grim face and says immediately. “No!”
“What!”
“You’re my best friend but not good enough for her.” Taesuk grabs Junsuh’s arm.
“Yoon Junsuh!”
Junsuh sternly stresses his next words. “No way! She’s too precious. You’re not good enough.”
“Yoon Junsuh, you can’t take care of Eunsuh for the rest of your life?” Junsuh grins.
Taesuk tells Junsuh about Eunsuh.
“Did you know she was forced to marry an old man? You didn’t know, did you?” Junsuh is tongue-tied. He turns to Taesuk. Taesuk keeps pacing on. Junsuh calls him.
Taesuk shouts back. “Let’s see which one of us is faster.”
“What did you just say, Han Taesuk?” Junsuh screeches but Taesuk is already out of his sight.

Taesuk told Eunsuh that she’s got her job back.
“Is this for real? Is it? Really?” Eunsuh is excited.
“Of course. You can come back to work now.”
“How could you make her change her mind?”
“Well...”
“You begged her?”
Instead of answering, he asks. “Don’t you need to work?”
“You really did ask her for a favour?” Taesuk tells her nothing.
“Will you come back to work?” Eunsuh nods.
“Thank you. It’s too good. I’m so relieved. Can I start tomorrow?” Eunsuh smiles with delight for not losing her job. Junsuh sees Taesuk and Eunsuh talking. He walks up to them.
“Sure, you can.” Taesuk is in good humour to see her smile.
“I’m so worried.”
“Buy me a lunch if you’re so grateful.” Taesuk claims his reward from her.
“Sure, I can promise you.”
“I’m your cousin’s friend. I’m your brother too.” Eunsuh still smiling.
Taesuk speaks commandingly. “Hey! Don’t smile at anybody.”
Eunsuh sees her obba, she gladly calls out for him. Junsuh waves at her.
Taesuk’s voice goes up. “I told you the first one here gets the prize.” Taesuk says victoriously and points backward over his shoulder with his thumb at Eunsuh. Junsuh turns his eyes toward her. She has a puzzled look on her face, not knowing what both men talking about.

Eunsuh begins her work afresh. She feels some strange looks and attitudes of her colleagues. Kanghee gladly congratulates her friend for getting back to work.
“It’s wonderful. I’m really glad you’re back again.
“Thanks.”
“Senior Junsuh, only God knows how much I miss him.” Kanghee shyly talks about Junsuh.
“What…hey! What’s wrong with everyone? And I didn’t see Manager Kim?”
“You don’t know? She’s transferred to the swimming pool.”
“The pool? But that’s under outside management.”
“She’s been axed.” Kanghee draws a finger across her throat in horror gesture.
“Why?’
“I don’t know. Rumour has it the new director has a thing against her.”
“How can it be like that? The new boss is too much.”
“That’s mean its good for you. You wouldn’t have gotten your job back if she had stayed. Consider yourself lucky. That’s why it was so awkward back there. The rumour is there’s something between you and that new director.”
“What!”
“I don’t think it’s true. How would you know him?”
“Who is he?”
“He’s the chairman’s youngest son. He messed things up that everyone in Seoul is fed up with him. That’s why he was sent down here.”
“Really? How would I know someone like that?”
“Of course not. What’s his name?...Han Taesuk.” Eunsuh suddenly balks and looks at Kanghee.
“What! Han Taesuk?”
Taesuk calls Eunsuh out. She turns to him
“Here you are. Welcome back to work. I’ve been looking for you.”
Eunsuh knows now why she got her job back and Kim had to be reshuffled.
