School of Film and Television Victorian College of the Arts
1. His Garden (2010, Ratapong, Pinyosophon, stage play, A-)
THE CONSTANT GARDENER in Thai context. Yellow shirt, Red shirt, NGO, Political Science lecturer, the definition of violence, the collapse of ideology. All these elements may not combine smoothly but the director present it in interesting way.
Addition Note: When I saw THE CONSTANT GARDENER in the cinema, I feel so-so with the film. (except the ending scene which is very heartbreaking). But after finished this performance I wish to see the film again. (I already have the DVDs. I buy it for teaching purpose. But the plan has collapsed as you see in my former status about the surrealistic atmosphere in my class. 555)
2. The Snow White (2010, Arch Chula, stage play, B+/B)
The play is moderate in a whole picture. Many scenes can make the room filling with laughter (especially for those who're in the era of facebook and iPad). But on the other hand, some parts are dull and pointless. For political gags, you will enjoy them if you are yellow or anti-red. But if you are in the opposite side, you may feel a little awkward.
I feel the resolution part of the play was carelessly contructed. Anyway, pls keep in your mind, this is the material from Faculty of Architecture, not Faculty of Arts. It is made for reunion party and dating! LOL
