Miss Singapore World 2008
Singapore, SINGAPORE - Faraliza Tan, 22 years old, in her final year as a Media & Mass Communication undergraduate at the Nanyang Technology University of Singapore, was crowned
Miss Singapore World 2008 at the Raffles City Convention Centre.
She stands 1.75 m and her vital statistics are 82 - 60 -88. She speaks English, Chinese & Malay.
The new Miss Singapore plays the trombone. This is her first attempt in a pageant and she has never modelled in her life.
1st Runner up is Katie Kang, a 19 year-old student, and 2nd runner up is Charlyene Choo, a 22 year-old trainee teacher.
There were 22 contestants and it was a charity gala with 1,500 people in attendance.
The Miss Singapore contest beneficiary was AIDS & the SASACO Charity Homes.

Miss World Colombia 2008
Santa Fe de Bogota, COLOMBIA - Katherine Medina, Miss World Medellin, was crowned Miss World Colombia 2008 last Saturday night. The new Colombian titleholder is a Accountancy student at the Ideas University of Medellin.
