I admit that I may be unorthodox or a free thinker, if each religion means argument to hold ones own religion in a higher esteem than others.
I believe that the core substance of each religion aims at making a good man. Thus, I neither profess in a particular religion nor dismiss the teaching of any real prophets in this world.
When it comes to religion, I speak of it as a humble layman. After attending the service with her for several times, I got to know some teaching and something about life of one priest she respected and that reminded me of our argument.
I asked her why the priest spent his free time watching the video. Thats the way he relaxed himself, she replied. But in my view, the priest was still searching for enjoyment in worldly terms.
I asked her why the priest liked playing golf on Saturday. Thats the way he exercised himself, she responded, adding that he was better at golf than at other sports and he was never absent from preaching on Sunday. I, however, thought that he was playing sport marked with status since its the sport of the rich. Her priest loved associating himself with rich people, not actually pursuing a mode of life of the prophet.
I asked her, The priest should live a life in a way as good as or better than the teaching itself, shouldnt he?
She told me, Give me your examples that you do better than him. What do you gain from viewing others with prejudice, pessimism or finding fault with them? Does it make your life better? Why dont you look at yourself if you did anything better yesterday if you do anything better today?
Oh my dear, your preaching does open my eyes. I kept repeating this sentence in my mind.
