Good quality conventional teak plantations are characterized by the following: 1. use of appropriate genetic material; 2. adequate site selection; 3. sustainable sources of finance; 4. application of superior forms of management.
Teak is popular planting for 88,000 hectares (550,000 Rai) during 1994-1996.
The government support this project by providing fund 3,000baht/rai (1,875USD/hectare) and divide to pay for 5 years : 800, 700, 600, 500, and 400 baht
each year.
