St. Lucias new Queens
Pageantry St. Lucia elected its new queens for Miss Universe and Miss World during an event held at the Sandals Grande resort on November 3rd. 24-year year old Tara Carla Edward (R) was chosen Miss St. Lucia Universe 2012 and will represent the Caribbean island at the Miss Universe competition to be held next December in Las Vegas. She stands 180 cm in height and comes from Gros Islet.
Meanwhile, Oneka McCoy (L) was elected Miss St. Lucia World 2013. The 25-year old from Georgetown stands 170 cm tall and will travel to Indonesia for the Miss World 2013 competition in September.
Ms. Joan Johnson, president of Pageantry St. Lucia joined forces with Ms. Yasmine Walcott and decided to hold one competition instead of staging them separately. Ms. Johnson stated to the St. Lucia star that the initiative of holding one pageant is cost effective. 10 women competed in this years event.
