Miss New Zealand International
From New Zealand to Macau Rhonda Grant will represent NZ in Miss International
Rhonda Grant (photo) has been selected to represent New Zealand at the 2008 Miss International contest to take place in Japan and Macau next month.
Ms Grant, a 22-year old health promotion co-ordinator with the National Heart Foundation in Napier, graduated from the Palmerston North campus in May with a Bachelor of Science in human nutrition.
While a student at Massey University she was a runner-up in last year's Miss Manawatu beauty pageant and, in April this year, came third in the Miss Universe New Zealand pageant.
"Miss International is rated as one of the top beauty pageants in the world along with Miss Universe and Miss World," Ms Grant says.
"The contest runs over three weeks. We go to Japan first and then to Macau for the pageant. I'm really excited and honoured to be chosen and will do my best to represent New Zealand well and meet some fantastic people."
The 1.78 m beauty will join 60 other contestants to compete for this year's title.
