ปฏิจจสมุปบาท มีองค์หรือหัวข้อ 12 (การเกิดขึ้นพร้อมแห่งธรรมทั้งหลาย เพราะอาศัยกัน, ธรรมที่อาศัยกันเกิดขึ้นพร้อม, การที่สิ่งทั้งหลายอาศัยกันๆ จึงเกิดมีขึ้น — the Dependent Origination; conditioned arising)
1/2. อวิชฺชาปจฺจยา สงฺขารา เพราะอวิชชา เป็นปัจจัย สังขาร จึงมี
(Dependent on lgnorance arise Kamma-Formations)
3. สงฺขาราปจฺจยา วิญฺญาณํ เพราะสังขารเป็นปัจจัย วิญญาณ จึงมี
(Dependent on Kamma-Formations arise Consciousness)
4. วิญฺญาณปจฺจยา นามรูปํ เพราะวิญญาณเป็นปัจจัย นามรูป จึงมี
(Dependent on Consciousness arise Mind and Matter)
5. นามรูปปจฺจยา สฬายตนํ เพราะนามรูปเป็นปัจจัย สฬายตนะ จึงมี
(Dependent on Mind and Matter arise the Six Sense-Bases.)
6. สฬายตนปจฺจยา ผสฺโส เพราะสฬายตนะเป็นปัจจัย ผัสสะ จึงมี
(Dependent on the Six Sense-Bases arises Contact)
7. ผสฺสปจฺจยา เวทนา เพราะผัสสะเป็นปัจจัย เวทนา จึงมี
(Dependent on Contact arise Feeling)
8. เวทนาปจฺจยา ตณฺหา เพราะเวทนาเป็นปัจจัย ตัณหา จึงมี
(Dependent on Feeling arise Craving.)
9. ตณฺหาปจฺจยา อุปาทานํ เพราะตัณหาเป็นปัจจัย อุปาทาน จึงมี
(Dependent on Craving arises Clinging.)
10. อุปาทานปจฺจยา ภโว เพราะอุปาทานเป็นปัจจัย ภพ จึงมี
(Dependent on Clinging arises Becoming.)
11. ภวปจฺจยา ชาติ เพราะภพเป็นปัจจัย ชาติ จึงมี
(Dependent on Becoming arises Birth.)
12. ชาติปจฺจยา ชรามรณํ เพราะชาติเป็นปัจจัย ชรามรณะ จึงมี
(Dependent on Birth arise Decay and Death.)
โสกปริเทวทุกฺขโทมนสฺสุปายาสา สมฺภวนฺติ
ความโศก ความคร่ำครวญ ทุกข์ โทมนัส และความคับแค้นใจ ก็มีพร้อม
(There also arise sorrow, lamentation, pain, grief and despair.)
เอวเมตสฺส เกวลสฺส ทุกฺขกฺขนฺธสฺส สมุทโย โหติ.
ความเกิดขึ้นแห่งกองทุกข์ทั้งปวงนี้ จึงมีด้วยประการฉะนี้
