way
There was once a wood. People would visit this wood times and again. Once they went into the wood they will find a way. The way then will lead to many ways and yet many, many ways.
Some people know too well that actually they have just one way to choose (although there seems to be many ways.) Some people only know vaguely that they just need to walk on, either way is alright. Some people are confused and terrified. They know that they could choose any way they like, but yet also know that it might not be easy to return and try another way, and another way.
Once people choose a way, they walk down the path. The path might lead to anywhere. Sometimes it led to their heart's desire, sometime to bog and mire. No path actually has a dead end, although some people might feel like they could go no longer.
When a person is still young, one will choose and choose again. Walk back and forth, happily trying this way and that way. But when one become older, one walk deeper and deeper into the wood, and then the way lead to ways and ways. Sometimes it intersect or parallel with the other ways in an unexpected way. But then, at one point of the journey, people hardly turn back again. They will just have the way lead to ways and ways.
No way is an easy way, no matter how beautiful they are. It is said that people who get mesmerized enough will say that their way is fine, even nice. But actually it is always also full of thorn and thistle, and wonder and dazzling light. Nobody know exactly what the other encounter, although they walk on the very same way.
And mountains shall they encounter, and lakes and oceans full of tear, and heart-rendering yearnings and pains, and all the obstacles that will numb their mind.
And people will walk on and on. Sometimes because they just could not leave the way, sometimes because there are things that are too precious to lost, sometime just because they don't know the other way.
