UK [Review] Stratford upon Avon & Warwick_ตามรอย Shakespeare สวัสดีค่ะเพื่อนๆทุกคน นี่คือ episode 2 ของ UK Trip by jellyjourney นะคะ..แต่ก่อนเราจะพาไปเที่ยว ขอให้ข้อมูลเล็กๆน้อยๆ เกี่ยวกับเมืองต่างๆในเกาะอังกฤษ เพื่อให้เพื่อนๆเข้าใจภาพรวมมากขึ้นนะคะ Hello everyone J Since you have known how to choose and buy the train ticket, lets go explore England. I chose my first trip in UK to two small towns near Birmingham. I was very new to England at that time. Ive never traveled alone before, especially to the place which is not my home town. Before I start my journey, I would like to describe you a little bit about each country in the UK and each region in England for our better understanding. อย่างที่ทราบกันดีอยู่แล้วว่า UK หรือ สหราชอาณาจักร ประกอบไปด้วย 4 ประเทศด้วยกัน คือ อังกฤษ (England) สกอตแลนด์ (Scotland) เวลล์ (Wales) และไอร์แลนด์เหนือ (Northern Ireland) ซึ่งการทำวิซ่าท่องเที่ยวก็คือวีซ่าเข้า UK นั่นก็แปลว่าเราทำวีซ่านี้ทีเดียว สามารถเข้าได้หมดทั้ง 4 ประเทศนี้เลยค่ะ จะมีก็แต่ตั๋ว Britrail pass อย่างที่กล่าวไว้ใน blog ที่เแล้ว ต้องเลือกให้ดีว่า เราจะไปแค่ England หรือจะไป England + Scotland + อีก 2 ประเทศด้วยหรือไม่ค่ะ The United Kingdom or the UK consists of 4 counties which are England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Island. If you apply for the UK visa, it means that you can travel to any of these 4 countries in the UK. However, for those who bought Britrail pass, you need to make sure that the pass you bought covers only England or covers both England and other countries. เมื่อเจาะลึกเฉพาะประเทศอังกฤษนั้น อังกฤษแบ่งเขตการปกครองออกเป็น 9 regions ด้วยกัน แต่ละ region ก็จะมีลักษณะภูมิประเทศ/วัฒนธรรม ที่แต่งต่างกันออกไป ในแต่ละ region นั้นจะประกอบไปด้วยเมืองต่างๆค่ะ ซึ่งส่วนมากเราก็จะคุ้นเคยกับชื่อเมืองมากกว่าที่จะสนใจว่ามันอยู่ใน region ไหนเนอะ แต่ที่มาเล่าให้ฟังนี้เพื่อจะได้ให้เพื่อนๆเห็นภาพง่ายขึ้นค่ะ England separates the country into 9 regions. Each of the regions has different landscape and has their local culture. I explain this to you because I would like you to follow my journey to each city in each region easily. มาเริ่มกันเลยดีกว่า...ตอนนั้นที่มีโอกาสไปทำงานที่อังกฤษ เราได้ไปอยู่เมือง Birmingham ค่ะ เป็นเมืองที่มีประชากรหนาแน่นเป็นอันดับ 2 รองจากลอนดอนเลยนะ ตั้งอยู่ในเขต west midlands ค่อนข้างเป็นเมืองที่อยู่ตรงกลางของเกาะอังกฤษเลย เพราะฉะนั้นการเดินทางออกไปยังเมืองรอบๆสะดวกมว๊ากกก และเนื่องจากยังเป็นเด็ก Baby หัดเดินทางในอังกฤษอยู่ weekend แรก จึงเลือกไปเมืองเล็กๆใกล้ๆในเขต West midlands นั่นคือ เมือง Warwick และ เมือง Stratford upon Avon ค่าา เป็น one day trip นะจ๊ะ ..ตามมาเที่ยวกันเลย Last year (2013) during April to July, I had a chance to work in England, in the city called Birmingham. I was surprised by the fact that Birmingham is a second populous city in England after London. Birmingham is situated in the west midlands region. As Birmingham is located in the central of England, it is not far from each city and it is easy for me to travel to other parts of England. I chose Warwick and Stratford upon Avon as my first destinations of jellyjourney in the UK. These two towns are located in the west midlands region as same as Birmingham. Therefore, they are suitable for a new traveler like me. Itinerary for this one day trip ค่ะ ตารางนี้เราทำโดยเริ่มและจบจาก Birmingham นะจ๊ะ ถ้าใครมาจากเมืองอื่นๆ ต้องลองดูตารางเวลาของรถไฟจากเวบ และแพลนดูค่ะว่าสามารถไปได้หมดทั้ง 2 เมืองหรือไม่ หรืออยากใช้เวลาอยู่ที่เมืองไหนมากว่ากัน เช่น ถ้ามาจากลอนดอนก็จะไกลหน่อย ประมาณ 3 ชม อาจจะมีเวลาพอแค่เดินเล่นใน Stratford upon Avon เมืองเดียว แต่ถ้าหากอยู่ในเขต west midlands หรือ เขตใกล้อยู่แล้ว ไปทีเดียว 2 เมืองก็คุ้มดีค่ะ
Below itinerary is prepared for one day trip. A start and end point are at Birmingham. So, if you travel from other cities, please adapt my itinerary and see whether you can complete both towns in one trip or not. Or you can adjust the time spent between Stratford upon Avon and Warwick as you like.  WARWICK เนื่องจากเวลาจำกัด เราเลยไปเยือนเมือง Warwick แค่ส่วนที่เป็น Warwick Castle ค่ะ Warwick castle เป็นปราสาทที่สร้างขึ้นในค.ศ. 1068 โดยพระเจ้าวิลเลียมที่ 1 ตัวปราสาทตั้งอยู่บนโค้งแม่น้ำ Avon เป็นปราสาทที่เก่าแก่มากเลยนะ ปัจจุบันปราสาทนี้ได้รับการบริหารโดยบริษัทเอกชนค่ะ ซึ่งเค้าได้สร้างแรงจูงใจให้มีคนเข้าไปเที่ยวมากขึ้น โดยการกลายร่างเป็นเหมือนสวนสนุกค่ะ 55 แต่ก็ไม่ถึงกับรู้สึกว่าขาดความขลังไปนะ โดยส่วนตัวเราคิดว่าสนุกดี มีการแสดงโชว์ หรือเกมส์ เพื่อสอดแรกประวัติศาสตร์ได้เป็นอย่างดี แถมยังเป็นเหมือนพื้นที่ที่ให้ครอบครัวได้ใช้เวลาร่วมกันค่ะ ..แม้เราจะไปคนเดียว แต่ก็รู้สึกสนุกนะคะ เหมือนได้กลับไปเป็นเด็กอีกครั้งหนึ่ง ค่าเข้าชมราคาผู้ใหญ่ แบบ walk in ราคา 22.8 ปอนด์ค่ะ แต่ถ้าซื้อ online ล่วงหน้าก็จะได้ลดราคาลง 20% เลย ลองเข้าไปดู Official website ของ Warwick Castle ตามนี้ค่ะ www.warwick-castle.com Due to the time constraint, I planned to visit Warwick only for the Warwick castle. Warwick castle is the castle built in 1068 by King William I. The castle is located on the bend of Avon river. Now, it is run by the private company. The company turned the castle into some kind of theme park. In my view, I think it doesn't diminish any magic of this old castle at all. In addition, it encourages children and family to spend time together learning the UKs history at the Castle. Personally, I enjoyed very much and felt like a child again. Walk-in ticket price is 22.80 Pounds. But you can get a 20% discount by booking online in advance. Check out its official website here. วันนั้นที่เราไปพอนั่งรถไฟมา Warwick station ปุ๊ป เดินตามทางไปนิดเดียวก็ถึงปราสาทแล้ว เมื่อซื้อตั๋วเสร็จ เราก็ดูก่อนเลยว่าจะมี show อะไรกี่โมง วันนั้นมีโอกาสได้ดูไป 2 โชว์ คือโชว์การใช้ Trebuchet (ซึ่งเป็นเครื่องจักรกลสมัยยุคกลางที่เอาไว้เหวี่ยงลูกหินเพื่อทำลายกำแพงเมือง) และ โชว์นกค่ะ ส่วนเวลาที่รอโชว์เริ่ม ก็ไปเดินเล่นในตัวปราสาทค่ะ..ถ้าใครคิดจะไปอังกฤษ ขอเตือนก่อนเลยนะ ว่าร่างกายต้องพร้อม ยิ่งถ้าจะไปเที่ยวปราสาท (ซึ่งมีเยอะมากในอังกฤษ) ต้องปีนบันไดวนๆนับไม่ถ้วนเลย Warwick castle is not far from the train station. You can walk in just a few minutes. I didn't buy the ticket in advance, so I have to pay the full price TT. After received the ticket and the leaflet, I hurriedly checked for the shows that day. I had a chance to watch 2 shows which are Trebuchet show and bird show. Trebuchet is a mechanic weapon used in medieval time to throw out some rocks to destroy the city wall during the war. Besides the shows, I walked through each room in the castle and climbed the ladder to castles tower. You've got to be strong in order to climb up and see beautiful scene above. สถานีรถไฟ Warwick ค่าา Warwick station  บ้านสไตล์ Tudor ค่ะ ซึ่่งเป็นบ้านสมัยยุคราชวงศ์ Tudor ของอังกฤษ โครงสร้างของบ้านจะประกอบด้วยปูนและกรอบไม้ ส่วนที่เป็นปูนก็จะทาสีขาว ส่วนที่เป็นกรอบไม้ก็จะทาสีดำค่ะ ซึ่งกรอบไม้มีการดีไซน์หลากหลายมาก อย่างข้างล่างนี่ก็ถือว่าสวยมากเลยเน้อ Tudors style house..very beautiful and unique..The house is built with the cement and decorated by the frames of wood. Cement parts are pained in white, while the wooden parts are painted in black. You can see the River Avon, the tennis courts, and houses near the castle. Dont you see? Its worth to climb up all the ladders!!  คิวเข้าปราสาทค่ะ คนเยอะเหมือนกันนะเนี่ย Queue to the castle  ด้านข้างของปราสาทค่ะ เค้าจะโชว์การนำพลังงานจากแม่น้ำมาเข้าเครื่องปั่นไฟ เพื่อใช้กันในปราสาทสมัยก่อนค่ะ One side of the castle..It shows the method which old people use to generate electricity from the power of water.  พื้นที่รอบๆ Warwick castle จะมีการสาธิตวัฒนธรรมสมัยโบราณให้ดูด้วย  เด็กๆสนุกสนานเลยจ้า  โชว์ Trebuchet Fireball Spectacular นั่งดูกันบนพื้นหญ้าริมน้ำค่ะ ได้อารมณ์อยู่เมืองนอกสุดๆอะ อากาศก็ดีด้วยวันนั้น Trebuchet Fireball Spectacular Show nearby the river  อันนี้เป็นโชว์ Fight of the Eagles Bide show: Fight of the Eagles  มาดูด้านในปราสาทกันบ้าง Inside the castle  อาหารเที่ยง homemade ของเรา ที่นี่คนเข้าจะเอาอาหารมาเอง มาปิคนิคกันค่ะ บางคนมาเป็นครอบครัวใหญ่เลยค่ะ ข้อดีของซัมเมอร์เนอะ กิจกรรม outdoor เยอะดี My homemade lunch..Many families bring their own lunch and have a picnic. I love to watch children playing with their parents. ได้เวลาที่แพลนแล้วก็เดินกลับไป Warwick station เพื่อไป Stratford upon Avon ค่ะ ตอนแรกที่เราได้ยินขื่อนี้ คิดในใจว่า เมืองอะไรเนี่ยชื่อประหลาดจัง แต่พอรู้ว่ามีแม่น้ำชื่อ Avon เท่านั้นแหละ อ๋อออ Get เลย Stratford upon Avon ก็คือเมืองที่อยู่ริมแม่น้ำ Avon นั่นเอง เค้าเอากันง่ายๆงี้เลยเนอะ แต่ก็เข้าใจง่ายดี  I arrived at Stratford upon Avon in the afternoon. At first, I was surprised by the name of this town. But after I knew that there is a river called Avon, then I understand that this name is clear enough :P สถานีรถไฟ Stratford upon Avon ค่ะ Stratford upin Avon station  Stratford upon Avon เป็นเมืองเล็กแต่มีชื่อเสียงเพราะเป็นเมืองบ้านเกิดของ William Shakespeare นักประพันธ์ชื่อดังชาวอังกฤษค่ะ ผลงานที่มีชื่อเสียงของเค้าก็มากมาย แต่ที่เรารู้จักกันดีก็น่าจะเป็น Romeo and Juliet เนอะ Stratford upon Avon is a small town but also a famous town as it is a birthplace of William Shakespeare. William Shakespeare was an English poet and playwright. His well known works are such as Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, and As You Like It. การเดินทางในเมืองนี้ เดินเอาเลยค่ะ 2 เท้าเรานี้แหละเดินได้ทั่ว มาถึงปุ๊ป เราก็เดินทางไปซื้อตั๋วเข้าชมสถานที่ต่างๆที่เกี่ยวกับ Shakespeare You dont need any car or bus to travel in Stratford. You can walk to almost all of the tourist places. Since this town is closely related to Shakespeare, our destinations are closely linked with Shakespeare and his family too. คืองี้ค่ะ เรามี option ให้ 2 ทาง คือ 1.ถ่ายรูปกับ Shakespeare's birthplace ซึ่งก็คือบ้านของ Shakespeare จากภายนอก ซึ่งจะไม่มีโอกาสได้เข้าไปชม หรือ 2. เดินไปตึกข้างๆ birthplace และซื้อตั๋ว Shakespeare's Birthplace pass ราคา 15.90 ปอนด์ ตั๋วนี้เป็นราคารวมค่าเข้าของ Shakespeare's family houses ประกอบด้วย - Shakespeare's Birthplace - Nash's house and New place (last place before he died) - Hall's croft (บ้านของลูก Shakespeare มีสวนสวยหลังบ้านค่า ห้ามพลาด) - Shakespeare's grave (โบสถ์ Holy Trinity) ดูรายละเอียดบ้านต่างๆเพื่อประกอบการตัดสินใจได้ ที่นี่ I give you 2 options to choose. 1. taking a photo with Shakespeares Birthplace from the outside (the house is very famous and can be easily recognized) 2. walking to the side building to buy a Shakespeares Birthplace pass at the amount of 15.90 GBP The pass include entrance fee to Shakespeares family houses which comprise of - Shakespeares Birthplace - Nashs house and New place (last place before he died) - Halls croft (Shakespeares daughter house) (Dont miss out the very beautiful garden in the backyard) - Shakespeares grave (Holy Trinity church) You can find more details here. ถ้าถามว่า มันคุ้มมั๊ย? ส่วนตัวคิดว่าคุ้ม ถ้าคุณเป็นคน 1.ชอบ Shakespeare หรือผลงานของเค้า หรือ 2.ชอบเดินชม museum เดินดูนิทรรศการที่จัดไว้ให้ความรู้เกี่ยวกับประวัติและผลงานของ Shakespeare หรือ 3.เป็นคนชอบถ่ายรูป เพราะตั๋วนี้ คุณจะได้เข้าไปเยี่ยมชมบ้านหลายๆหลัง และเค้าจะมีการจัดสวนไว้อย่างสวยงาม โดยเฉพาะหน้า summer ที่เราไป ดอกไม้สวยฝุดๆ Personally, I would say that buying the pass was worth my money. It would worth for you as well if you 1) like Shakespeare and interest in his works or 2) like to walk around the exhibition showcasing Shakespeares works and background of his life or 3) like taking a photo because with this pass you can enter into houses which some house has a decorated garden. It was beautiful, especially in the summer. ลองตัดสินใจดูนะคะ ว่าแบบไหนที่เข้ากับ lifestyle ของเรา..ซึ่งนอกจากบ้านต่างๆที่ต้องใช้ตั๋วเข้าแล้ว ตัวเมืองของเค้าก็มีร้านขายของพื้นเมือง ของ handmade ของที่ระลึก ชอปปิ้งกันสนุกค่ะ
Make a decision for the option that fits you travel style..Besides the houses, you can enjoy the souvenir shop, traditional shop selling handmade things, and good view restaurant and afternoon tea house. ด้านหน้าของ Shakespeare's Birthplace วันนั้นที่ไปมีงานโชว์รถเก่าพอดีเลยค่ะ มีรถเก่าๆสวยๆ ดังๆ จอดโชว์เต็มถนนเลย The front of Shakespeares birthplace.. On that day, there was a retro car exhibition. The Holy Trinity เป็นโบสถ์ ที่มีหลุมฝังศพของ Shakespeare ค่ะ สวยมากๆทั้งด้านใน ด้านนอก Shakespeares grave is located at the Holy Trinity church.    มุมนี้ถ่ายจากด้านหลังของโบสถ์ค่ะ เห็นปุ๊ป อึ้งไปซักพักกับความสวยยย ก่อนจะหยิบกล้องมาถ่ายรูป แต่ กรี๊ดด แบตหมด เลยต้องถ่ายผ่านไอโฟนค่า  Fascinating river on the backside of the church   ถนนใน Stratford เดินเล่นชอปปิ้งชิลล์ๆค่ะ Shopping street   ได้เวลากลับแล้ว นั่งรถไฟจาก Stratford กลับ Birmingham ประมาณ 1 ชม ค่ะ I caught an one hour train back to Birmingham before dark.  เป็นยังไงบ้างคะ? อยากไปเที่ยวกันมากขึ้นรึยัง นี่เพิ่งจะเป็นเมืองแรกของ UK TRIP เองนะ รอติดตามชมเมืองอื่นๆกันอาทิตย์หน้าด้วยนะคะ (บอกใบ้ๆ ตอนหน้าไป Oxford กันค่ะ) บายค่า How was it?
