LEquipe: Edinson Cavani is staying at PSG, no chance of move to Arsenal Perhaps because Mario Balotelli will sign for Liverpool in the coming days (possibly hours) there were a ton of rumours linking Edinson Cavani with Arsenal on Thursday.
Gooners seem desperate for a big name striker, which could well happen once they progress past Besiktas in the Champions League play-offs, with disenchantment rising about French striker Olivier Giroud.
The transfer gossip surrounding Cavani to Arsenal appears to have been invented on Twitter but newspapers such as the Metro have claimed a bid of over 30 million pounds is forthcoming from Arsene Wenger.
But, French newspaper LEquipe have ruled out Cavani leaving the Ligue 1 champions this summer.
PSG have just two front line strikers in the Uruguayan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Whilst Cavani was thought to be disenchanted at having to play wide and support Zlatan in the middle, the Swedish hitman is currently injured and PSG coach Laurent Blanc is relying on the former Napoli striker.
