เชื่อว่าใครก็ตามที่หลงใหลนักเขียนคนไหนเป็นพิเศษ คงอยากเก็บสะสมทุกอย่างที่เกี่ยวกับนักเขียนท่านนั้น ผมเองก็เช่นกัน กามูส์เป็นหนึ่งในนักเขียนคนโปรดตั้งแต่วัยรุ่น แม้เวลาผ่านมาเนิ่นนาน แต่ความรู้สึกยกย่องนับถือยังคงท่วมท้น
ล่าสุดผมเพิ่งได้หนังสือประวัติของกามูส์ที่เขียนโดยโอลิวิเยร์ ทอดด์ ดีใจมาก ภาพหน้าปกของหนังสือเล่มนี้ทำให้นึกถึงข้อเขียนของ Susan Sontag ที่เคยเขียนถึงกามูส์ในปี 1963 ว่า
"The cigarette dangles between the lips, whether he wears a trench-coat, a sweater and open shirt, or a business suit. It is in many ways an almost ideal face: boyish, good-looking but not too good-looking, lean, rough, the expression both intense and modest. One wants to know this man."

David Sedaris เขียนให้แฟนหนังสือของเขาที่ร้าน Strand bookstore ในนิวยอร์ก
ในนิวยอร์กไทม์เช่นกัน มีบทความเกี่ยวกับ Ray Bradbury ที่ปัจจุบันวัยจะ 90 แล้ว เขาให้สัมภาษณ์ว่า
Libraries raised me, Mr. Bradbury said. I dont believe in colleges and universities. I believe in libraries because most students dont have any money. When I graduated from high school, it was during the Depression and we had no money. I couldnt go to college, so I went to the library three days a week for 10 years.
Yahoo called me eight weeks ago, he said, voice rising. They wanted to put a book of mine on Yahoo! You know what I told them? To hell with you. To hell with you and to hell with the Internet.
Its distracting, he continued. Its meaningless; its not real. Its in the air somewhere.
