Burn After Reading

(I might come across a bit high in this blog, so sorry about that.)
Intorelable Cruelty is one of my all-time favorite dark comedy movies, so I expected this to give some kind of the same vibe as they're both directed by the talented Coen brothers. Guess I was wrong, because Burn After Reading for me is very different in so many ways. Of course, it's still a dark comedy film but there were hella lot of chaos going on here, but not in a bad way.
Synopsis? ...I don't think so because I have exactly no idea how far I can go without spoiling you. Let's just say there's a big mess over incredibly stupid issues that changed all the character's lives. See, the whole idea under this movie is to criticize about the system, how its security and person's privacy are so important, as well as state's welfare and what American life is all about and guess what? ...money! and how far all of these can actually drag you. One thing I really love about this movie is that you're just like floating in a bubble, knowing everything from the start and watching this bunch of people running around like crazy. I also admire how well all the knots was tied up over and over to create long array of craziest situations and the fact that the whole story was told concisely through only necessary details without any awkwardness so it's seriously real fun to watch. By the way, Thai subtitle was also hilarious.
All the characters were so well-made, different, and solid. The casts were also incredible in doing their jobs, even minor characters like Tilda Swinton's control freak cold-hearted doctor and Richard Jenkins' unfortunate gym trainer. Strong performance by George Clooney as a big flirt with a little twist of mental disorder and John Malkovich as an overconfident angry CIA agent were both stunning as usual. One of my two favorites is Frances McDormand's middle-aged gym trainer, who was ironically unhappy with her boby and desperately wanted to transform it through plastic surgery, which was portrayed in a perfect pitch. The other I have to go with is Brad Pitt's dump hyperactive dork. He was such a comic relief and he was too hilarious for me. The thing is, the casts were so good that I wonder if the Coens wrote the story with all the actors already selected in their minds.
This big chaos may look unrealistic but somehow it's not already proven impossible. Life can crash you hard and drive away because it's all about this whole lotta uncertainty crap that everybody has to deal with. God only knows, maybe human being's only job is to stay sane in this insane world.
