With all the financial advice out there, how on Earth is a consumer or investor supposed to know how to save for retirement? Today, the investor confidence is at an all time low, and consumer confidence cannot be found, meanwhile people are not getting any younger and are stressed to the max with credit card debt, mortgage problems and/or worried about getting a pink slip from their job?
We have some decent consumer credit advice on TV that is basic common sense and then we have market maker gurus like Jim Cramer, yelling "Booyah!" Now, how is anyone supposed to make sense of any of all this sound and fury, which just equates to more and more noise?
As it stands the businesses are having trouble borrowing, the government is deficit spending as if there is no tomorrow, and the consumer is upside down in their home and owes 150% of their annual income in short term debt; basically credit cards, car loans and other. Even grandma, is deficit spending, and now that she and her friends are living longer and health care costs are rising, how are they going to pay for it all?
