"อังกฤษ"ปะทะ"บราซิล"

จากการที่ สภาเมืองแห่งรัฐริโอ เดอ จาเนโร ได้สั่งให้มีการระงับเกมการแข่งขันนัดสำคัญระหวาง "แซมบ้า" บราซิล เจ้าภาพฟุตบอลโลกปีหน้า กับ "สิงโตคำราม" ทีมชาติอังกฤษ ในคืนวันอาทิตย์นี้ เนื่องจากหวั่นใจว่า สนามแข่งขันดังอย่างมาราคาน่า ที่เพิ่งจะทำการปรับปรุงนั้น อาจจะไม่สามารถรองรับผู้ชมได้นั้น

อย่างไรก็ตาม ล่าสุดเมื่อวันศุกร์ที่ผ่านมา อาเดรียน่า คอสต้า ดอส ซานโตส ผู้พิพากษาแห่งศาลในประเทศบราซิล ประกาศ ยกเลิกคำสั่งห้ามไม่ให้มีเกมการแข่งขันนัดนี้แล้ว หลังจากมีการส่งเอกสารที่ขาดหายไป ทำให้เกมแมตช์นี้จะดำเนินไปตามแผนที่วางเอาไว้

แถลงการณ์ดังกล่าว ระบุเอาไว้ว่า เกมระหว่าง บราซิล กับ อังกฤษ ได้รับการยืนยันให้แข่งขันวันที่ 2 มิถุนายนตามเดิม เนื่องจากการทดสอบตามกำหนดทุกอย่างตอนนี้พร้อมแล้ว เรื่องการขอยกเลิกเกมนั้น ถือเป็นความผิดพลาดของระบบราชการ ทำให้เรื่องทั้งหมดเกิดความสับสนขึ้น

ทั้งนี้ บราซิล วางแผนเปิดตัวสนามมาราคานา ที่จะใช้เป็นสนามหลักในการแข่งขันฟุตบอลโลก ในปีหน้า หลังจากทุ่มเงินปรับปรุงใหม่ด้วยเม็ดเงินมหาศาลถึง 286 ล้านปอนด์ หรือเกือบ ๆ 1.5หมื่นล้านบาท

ขณะที่ทีมชาติอังกฤษ ที่เดินทางไปถึงตั้งแต่วันพฤหัสบดีที่ผ่านมา รอย ฮ็อดจ์สัน ได้นำทัพลงฝึกซ้อมอย่างสบาย ๆ ที่ชายหาดโคปา คาบานา
