Sicily (3) Siciali    Now Playing: Serenade No 13 in G major, K.     Sicily the largest island in the Mediterranean has been influenced by the culture of the Greeks, the Romans, the Arabs the Normans and many others. They all loved life on the island and left their marks. Italy has a great climate and the beaches to go with it. Look at the map and you will notice immediately that Italy has a very long coastline. Different mountain chains run through the country and you never have to travel far to find some excellent places to go hiking. Volcanoes like Stromboli or the Etna are still active and can be visited. The train also runs directly to Sicily by way of a short ferry crossing and once you are inside Italy, you can take a bus from most major cities right to Palermo. Sicily is well connected to the mainland by boat and ferry, which depart from several Italian cities. On the ferry, you can bring your car along, so it is totally feasible to drive straight to Sicily from anywhere in Europe.  One of the most convenient ways to reach Sicily is by train. Connections can be made from every part of Europe to reach Reggio di Calabria, at the southern end of Italy. As the train arrives at the port of Villa San Giovanni in Calabria, it will roll onto a massive barge for the 1-hour crossing into eastern Sicily. Passengers will not even leave their seats during the short voyage across the Strait of Messina. Once on the island, the train will roll back on to a track and continue to the main station in Palermo.  ชิซิลี ชิซิลีเป็นเกาะที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในเมดิเตอร์เรเนียนที่ได้รับจากวัฒนธรรมของชาวกรีก โรมัน อาหรับ นอร์แมนและชนเผ่าอื่นๆ พวกเขาทั้งหมดชอบชีวิตบนเกาะและละทิ้งจุดหมายของพวกเขาไป ประเทศอิตาลีมีอากาศที่ดีและมีชายหาดที่เหมาะสมกัน มองดูที่แผนที่แล้วคุณจะสังเกตุทันทีว่าอิตาลีมีชายฝั่งที่ยาวมาก ทิวเขาหลากหลายทอดตัวผ่านประเทศ และคุณไม่ต้องเดินทางไปไหนไกลที่จะหาสถานที่ดีๆสำหรับปีนเขา ภูเขาไฟเช่นสตรอมโบลี่และเอ็ทน่าก็ยังคุกรุ่นอยู่และสามารถไปเยี่ยมชมได้  รถไฟแล่นตรงจากชิซิลีตรงสะพานข้ามเรือเฟอรี่และเมื่อคุณเข้ามายังภายในอิตาลีก็สามารถนั่งรถบัสจากเมืองหลักๆไปยังเมืองปาร์เลอโมได้ ชิซิลีนั้นเชื่อมต่อเป็นอย่างดีกับเกาะใหญ่ด้วยเรือและเรือเฟอรี่ซึ่งเดินทางมาจากหลายเมือง บนเรือเฟอรี่ สามารถนำรถยนต์มาด้วยได้ ดังนั้นเราสามารถขับรถตรงไปยังชิซิลีจากที่ใดก็ได้ในประเทศยุโรป    ทางสะดวกที่สุดทางหนึ่งที่จะไปถึงชิซิลีคือทางรถไฟ การเชื่อมโยงเส้นทางสามารถทำได้จากทุกๆ ส่วนของยุโรปจนไปถึงสถานีรถไฟ Reggio di Calabria ทางตอนใต้สุดของอิตาลี เมื่อรถไฟมาถึงท่าเรือ Villa San Giovanni ใน Calabria ผ่านเข้าไปเรือบรรทุกไปเป็นเวลา 1 ชั่วโมงไปยังชิซิลีตะวันออก ผู้โดยสารไม่ออกจากเก้าอี้ในช่วงการเดินทางสั้นๆ ผ่านช่องแคบเมซซินา(Messina) เมื่อมาถึงเกาะแล้วรถไฟก็จะกลับเข้ารางและแล่นต่อไปยังสถานีหลักในปาร์เลอโม  Divine intervention I have to say that the last few days in Italy have been very interesting in the department of lost and found. I decided to visit Mount Etna while here because it ties with Athena and the greeks from a long time ago. I was booked till Messina Messina which is around 1 hour from Taromina but realized that my compartment went to Taromina Taromina so I did not have to change trains. I managed to get a rental car which was not claimed by some one who had booked it and was on my way. One thing I realized was the awesome power of nature, while there. The 2002-2003 eruption was something to see, so was the 2001 eruption. I saw a gift shop which was kissed by the lava but spared to do business from the 2001 eruption. The Lave flow was all there and they were building roads to get to a place to view it. On my return to Taromina which was my launching point I left the Rental car and went to the Station. When I enquired about a sleeping berth, there was one available when I was told that none was available the same morning when I arrived there.  I was waiting at the station because I was early and met two chinese Italians who were on their way to their job. We managed to communicate in spite of the language barrier and while talking I decided to show them my Etna pictures. I looked in my bag and there was no Camera. I walked back to the rental agency at 9PM and it was closed. Luckily my rental contract had an emergency phone number. Mt chinese friends hooked me up through their cell phone and I was able to communicate with the car agency who met me at the office and we found the camera in the Trunk of the car where I had placed it with the intention of placing it in my baggage but failed to do so. Luckily the agency was 2 minutes away from the Train station. Now I was back camera in hand and just 30 minutes to my train.  I know you like to delve in Art but art does not do much for me. I am more into the local scene and spiritual things. I think you may have guessed that by now. Anyway, I just returned from Sicily after visiting Mount Etna and it was just beautiful. It is an active volcano and the place is breathtaking. Kisses เทวะบันดาล.... ผมต้องบอกว่าสองสามวันในอิตาลีนั้นน่าสนใจมากมราแผนกตามหาสิ่งของ (Lost & Found) ผมตัดสินใจไปเยี่ยมชมภูเขาไฟเอ็ตน่าเพราะมีความรู้สึกเกี่ยวข้องกับเทพีอเธน่าและชาวกรีกมาเป็นเวลานาน ผมจองตั๋วไปถึงเมซซินาซึ่งอยู่ห่างจากเทอโรมิน่า 1 ชั่วโมงและผมก็ได้ทราบว่าตู้รถของผมไปเทอโรมิน่าก็เลยไม่ต้องเปลี่ยนรถไฟ ผมยังได้รถเช่าที่มีคนจองไว้แล้วแต่ไม่มีคนมารับ ตอนที่อยู่ที่นั่น สิ่งหนึ่งที่ผมตระหนักถึงพลานุภาพแห่งธรรมชาติ ภูเขาไฟระเบิดเมื่อปี 2544 ผมเห็นร้านขายของถูกเถ้าลาวาปกคลุมแต่ก็พอเปิดกิจการได้ เส้นทางการไหลของลาวาอยู่ที่นั่นและก็มีถนนนำทางไปดูวิวเส้นทางลาวา ตอนขากลับไปยังทาโรมิน่าเป็นจุดที่ผมจอดรถเช่าไว้และไปยังสถานี ตอนที่ผมไปขอตู้นอนก็พบว่ามีอยู่ตู้หนึ่งเหลืออยู่ทั้งๆที่มีคนบอกฉันว่าไม่มีตู้นอนเหลือในตอนเช้าที่ฉันมาที่นี่ ผมรออยู่ที่สถานีเพราะผมมาก่อนเวลาและก็ได้พบลูกครึ่งจีน-อิตาเลี่ยน 2 คนที่กำลังจะไปทำงาน เราสามารถทำการสื่อสารกันได้แม้จะมีกำแพงภาษาและในตอนที่ผมคุยอยู่ก็อยากจะแสดงรูปภูเขาเอ็ตน่า ผมมองไปที่กระเป๋าแล้วก็ไม่เห็นกล้องผมเดินกลับไปที่ร้านรถเช่าตอนสามทุ่มแต่ร้านก็ปิดไปแล้ว โชคดีที่สัญญาเช่ารถมีเบอร์โทรศัพท์ฉุกเฉิน เพื่อนชาวจีนติดต่อมาทางโทรศัพท์มือถือแล้วผมก็สามารถติดต่อกับร้านเช่ารถที่มาพบผมที่สำนักงาน แล้วผมก็พบกล้องถ่ายรูปอยู่ในกระโปรงหลังรถตอนที่ผมพยายามจะเอากล้องใส่กระเป๋าแต่ทำไม่สำเร็จ โชคดีที่สำนักงานรถเช่าอยู่ห่างไป 2 นาทีจากสถานีรถไฟ ตอนนี้ผมมีกล้องอยู่ในมือแล้วและเหลืออีก 30 นาทีจะถึงรถไฟ ผมทราบว่าคุณหาข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับงานศิลปะแต่ผมไม่ได้สนใจศิลปะเท่าไหร่ ผมสนใจในเรื่องพื้นบ้านและจิตวิญญาณ ผมคิดคุณคงจะเดาออกแล้ว อย่างไรก็ตาม ผมพึ่งกลับมาจากชิซิลีหลังจากไปดูภูเขาเอ็ตน่าและสวยมาก นี่เป็นภูเขาไฟที่ยังคุกรุ่นอยู่และสถานที่สวยงามมาก
