Fresh and Playful Interiors : Up For Some Color?
No matter how doll and common a room is, adding some color could do wonders. Today we would like to display a selection of fresh and playful interiors that could really turn a place around in a positive way. Green, purple, strong blue and fresh green, they are all there. Normally, this association of colors is not very recommended. They are all very powerful, which means that mixing them could easily lead to a poor design. Fortunately this is not the case in the pictures below. These interiors are cool and full of life. Alongside the nasty but tasteful color association there are plenty of appealing decorating items which we hope will inspire you.-via Deco Fabulous

“Window” from Jonas Forsman, A Sound Absorbing Magazine Display
Home Ideas “Window” from Jonas Forsman, A Sound Absorbing Magazine Display “Window” from Jonas Forsman, A Sound Absorbing Magazine Display Jonas Forsman is a designer from Göteborg, Sweden who works in the field of product design, creating “ingenious solutions with simplified shape”. Today we would like to share with you one of his latest projects. “Window” is a sound absorbing magazine display which is a great solution for noisy interiors. Jonas noticed that the need for such devices is growing faster than ever before, which is the reason for creating such an original design. Public spaces like libraries or office rooms are the main beneficiaries of the product. However, a similar item could be placed in the kids’ room where a sound absorbing system could help parents have a good night’s rest.

A Creative Way To Separate Rooms : The Twist Door
Nowadays, privacy is a must. Which is why doors usually come in compact materials, that are rarely see-through. Today’s example comes with a twist. This is not your common open/close/use the knob for extra help kind of door, but one that could be considered a little more off track. “The Twist Door” belongs to HC Wang Design and was designed using a flexible surface as well as a rigid one. According to the designer, these type of surfaces were chosen in order to “filter the information” that the room, as a “private space” receives and transmits. As the door twists, it is nice to observe that it also changes its look, up to the point where it can resemble a window. This fact is also is pretty interesting. How do you feel about having a similar door separating your room from the rest of the house? -via The Design Blog //freshome.com/2010/02/25/a-creative-way-to-separate-rooms-the-twist-door/

Cool Conference Room Table Made From LEGO Blocks
Who says conference rooms have to be serious and doll places for long business discussions? Sure, the talk can last for hours, but how about changing the way a room of this kind feels? This is perhaps what designers over at Abgc had in mind when creating this cool conference room table for advertising agency Boys and Girls. The brief suggested that the table should be “playful, but not juvenile” and also contained a quote by Charles Mingus which states: “making the simple complicated is commonplace; making the complicated simple, awesomely simple, that’s creativity.” With this two elements at hand, Abgc came up with the LEGO boardroom table, a very creative idea that is supposed to boost creativity in the agency. It’s too bad the pieces are covered with glass, we think it would have been nice for the staff to also play with the LEGO blocks during the meeting. Would you consider this type of office furniture an incentive?- via Behance Network Finally at the end of this post here is a video where you can take a look at how this table was created. 17 Cool and Unconventional Shelving Ideas
We’ve heard people say how hard it is to move from one place to another because of all the things they have to carry around. And it’s a universal fact: we have too much stuff! For today we’ve gathered up a collection of 17 cool and unconventional shelving ideas that we hope will solve some of your storing problems. We tried to select the items that are not only practical, but that would improve how a place looks and feels. Most of them are unusual, for example take a look at the vertical wooden panels, which are particularly interesting. Vertical or horizontal, it is truly impressive how the designers managed to make these furniture items so functional. We also like the fact that they are built from classic materials, which makes them fit well in a variety of interior designs. -via HomeTopHit.com //freshome.com/2010/03/03/17-cool-and-unconventional-shelving-ideas/
