FaT Live เหยียบสิบ (2010, C)
Extremely boring as I’ve expected. First I think it will be a reunion party between me and Fat Radio but it turns out to be a funeral.
Note: Here is a very personal, self-indulged, bias-based opinion
* I may call this event as a Dejavu concert. Everything has been seen before. The stage pattern is similar to 100 Only On Stage FaT Radio All Stars (2004). The BTS motion graphic is the idea from Moderndog 10th Anniversary concert (2005). And the cartoon image in the song วันที่ฉันป่วย is a reproduction of Tiger Translate 2009. Hey! Is this a time machine or something? And the point is they used all these materials less effective than the original ones.
* For the collapsed projector, I surely have sympathy for the staffs. But the way they handle the situation is critically unforgivable. I just known that Windows XP is the main sponsor of the concert.
* The theme of cover song sounds interesting but … many of them didn’t work out: Brand New Sunset with their noisy metal style. The Photo Sticker Machine feat. Apaporn Nakornsawan is just a failure. They performed like they just meet each for other for a first time in their lives.
* And there are many many many many extremely and desperate boring tracks which are ตาสว่าง (performed by Apartment Khunpa), ทุกอย่าง (Scrubb) and Minute of Love (Super Baker). Anyway, this is a problem of my fussy music appreciation.
* The Worst moment
1) ไม่มีความหมาย by Pae Arak - He is such a genius in the aspect of transforming masterpiece work to a real disaster. Can anyone please tell him that he should stick with his band or a magazine cover?
2) แต่งงาน by Koi & Yong – I bet that they are more than 1000 people feel sick with this show.
* WTF Moment
1) Lomosonic with ขุนกระบี่ & กระโดดเตะหลอดไฟ - I’m glad that someone didn’t forget the songs of Cantaroot. But the way the band presented them is very awkward. You can feel it from the reaction from the audiences.
2) มันอยู่ที่จังหวะ by Gene Kasidit - Did we have Lady Gaga as a special guest for this event? Anyway, I really love his costume.
* Surprising Moment
1) Jui Jui - I have to admit that I never like his works before. But I’m just aware of his potential from this performance.
2) Tatto Colour - The best A cappella ever.
* My Beautiful Moment
1) หู่ฮู้ by Day Tripper - It is good to see these two guys on stage again. (I was their groupie at my high school time. LOL)
2) กลับมาที่เดิม by Siam Secret Service - They are so legendary. I still anticipate for their new material.
3) สาป by Greasy Café - His choice for Thee Chaiyadej’s song is brilliantly impressive. This is not just a cover but he has created his own music. Here is the evident that Greasy Café is the master of pessimistic love song.
* So, most of the time in this concert, I feel boring as hell and yawn about thousand times. I left the show after the All Ska band. This is the first time in my life that I walk out from the concert before it fully completes.
* All in all, it is clear that it’s not only the organizer who should take a responsibility of all flaws and mistakes. This is my fault for not belonging to this kind of music anymore. Some memories should be kept in the form of nostalgia, not as a reproducing commemoration. Moreover, I realize that it’s better for me to spare my time & money for the future Girls’ Generation concert.
