North Bend, A Modern Sustainable Residence




This stylish wooden home that you’re seeing now is master minded by Johnston Architects. Dubbed The North Bend residence, this home provides the inhabitant with ample interior space. Occupying at just 195 m2, this LEED house with single butterfly roofing is definitely green. This modern sustainable house was built using materials that have been found on the ground. Using trees or fallen branches and also firs and cedar were cut and processed for use timber.

The interior design features with wood as its core. The wood makes this sustainable home much warmer and it’s the best material option as it draws the natural environment outside to the inside space. The use of large windows able to give this sustainable wooden home a good view of the surrounding.

Geothermal heat pump is used to power this house and also pre heated water system which is based on solar heat also being used. It’s really interesting to find out the fact that the architects also shows some concerns as two thousand plantations were made to reforest the land and soils to regenerate the native forest. Truly a wonder to live in this green residence that has an automatic garden and this is thanks to the plantations.
