What form will the competition take?
An essay and moot competition (mock trial before a panel of judges)
What is the prize?
In addition to a trophy from the Supreme Court, the winning team of two Young Thai IP Law Ambassadors will go on a two-week, all-expenses-paid trip to the UK to visit and participate in various activities at leading intellectual property establishments, including judicial and academic bodies, top private law firms, and creative establishments where ideas are developed. While in the UK, both ambassadors will also join an attachment programme at a reputable law firm.
What are the other prizes?
The first runner-up team will receive a trophy from the Central IP&IT Court and a one-week study visit to Hong Kong
The team with the best essay will receive 10,000 baht in cash and their essay will be published in the IP&IT Courts annual publication
All teams participating in the moot competition will receive a certificate of participation in the Young Thai IP Law Ambassador Award and receive 5,000 baht in cash from IP&IT Court
The teacher coaching the winning team will receive a trophy and 10,000 baht in cash from the IP&IT Court
Who are we looking for?
Candidates should:
be studying Law at an academic institution in Thailand
be under 28 years old on the submission deadline (3 January 2011)
be able to communicate fluently in English (writing and speaking)
have a strong interest in IP
have good interpersonal skills
What do you have to do?
Form and name a team of two people from the same academic institution
Each team must submit one short essay in English on The Development of the Thai Intellectual Property System towards the ASEAN community (max 1,000 words)
