Shanghai
Come on Rafa
To be honest, I almost felt bad for having beaten Seppi because he really is a good guy. I came here, to Rome, with an enormous motivation because this is a very big tournament. You cant win all the time, its normal that youre beaten from time to time just like last year. But, you need to be at your best to have a good result here. I started with a victory, so thats not a bad start. Tomorrow, I will try to play a good match against Soderling. Well see.
It would be interesting to ask him how he felt after defeating me in the Wimbledon final" ( wise answer,Rafa )

แฟน VB แปลมาให้อ่านค่ะ สัมภาษณ์ราฟาจาก welovetennis.fr To be honest, Ive never asked autographs (smiles) I was certainly privileged to have an uncle in the football world (he played for Barcelona), who was friends with other professional players. But Ive never demanded anything. Maybe its because Im too shy Anyway, I know that if it had been the case, if I had wanted to ask autographs, I would have appreciated the sports person to take the time to sign. Its for that reason that I do my best to take out time for the kids and for people who come to see me and who wait for me at the gates. Its always fantastic to see to what extend people support us. I come from a little town, and believe me, Im not used to that, I dont think that its normal! (smiles). Sometimes, sadly, we cant give many autographs but its not that we dont want to. We follow the rules: the security team asseses if the movement of the crowd is getting dangerous (I dont always know why because its usually kids ) and they ask us to move on. But what is certain; no matter if it rains or not, no matter if theres a huge crowd or whatever, if I can stay to give autographs, I will systematically give them as much as possible. Rafael Nadal By Serena Williams
I have never seen such tenacity, such ambition, such fight and such honor go into every shot as when I watch Rafael Nadal.
I want to be like him. The attitude he exudes the moment he walks out on the court is the attitude of a true champion. A champion whose desire to win is the same as the desire of a lion to eat. Stalking his prey with force and speed, Nadal, 22, has already become one of the game's all-time best.
What is so unusual about Rafa (which is what he likes to be called) is that unlike many of his fellow Spaniards, he can dominate on all surfaces. He has never lost a match on the French Open's clay, but he also has a Wimbledon title to his name, as well as one from the Australian Open. This year he's the only man able to go for a true Grand Slam.
What makes him so good? I think it's that he's the hardest worker. The last one to leave the court, the first to arrive. The one who falls asleep studying, the first to rise. It's not easy being a champion; you don't just wake up and bam! you're No. 1. It takes work, effort, desire, dedication all qualities that Rafa has. I could be wrong, but I don't think I am far off.
Williams, whose memoir On the Line comes out in September, has won 20 Grand Slam titles
It's not easy being a champion; you don't just wake up and bam! you're No. 1. It takes work, effort, desire, dedication all qualities that Rafa has.
ไม่อยากให้ราฟารู้เลย อยากให้แก just play tennis and try his best !!
This year was very different. I could read his first serve, said the world number two, who is seeking his first title of the year.
I didnt have a problem to attack his serve, whereas last year I was just trying to get the ball into play and then obviously he was able to mix it up and make me doubt much more.
I had the control from the baseline. Im really happy with the performance today. Its just important that I work hard and get back to my best. I know Im very close to it.
Federer said conditions were a touch slower than when he played Stepanek last year, and he could read his opponent's serve better.
"I told myself I have to be very disciplined in my playing today, the way I play my tactical game against him and just the way I have to focus," Federer said. "Last year I got a little bit unsure about my own game and he played well, and then I was not 100 percent sure of what I wanted to do."
Federer cruised in the second set, serving his fifth ace on his first match point. But Federer managed to get only 43 percent of his first serves in, and he will likely have to improve to avoid extending his title drought to eight tournaments.
"I didn't care how high my first serve percentage was, as long as I was winning," Federer said. "But it's definitely something I have to do better in the next match."
"I think I played quite patient, but then when I needed to step it up I did. It was quite strange because Tommy was making a lot of unforced errors, so he didn't put a lot of pressure on me."
"I have been playing really well in the last two or three months regardless who is in front and who is behind me," commented Djokovic. "I just focus on my game, and I've been playing really well. Let's see if I can keep it up."
"I think the match was really tough," said Nadal, who once again underlined his seeming invincibility on clay.
"Not the result, but the match. At the beginning I was winning 4 1, but at the same time I could be losing 4 1. I think I played really well - one of my best matches on clay this year. I'm playing at the very good level today, so I'm very happy. Very happy about my level today, and very happy about this victory."
Friday will see Nadal face Fernando Verdasco in a re-match of this year's Australian Open semi-final, which the Majorcan won in five sets on the way to his first Grand Slam title on hard courts.
"I think could be a really tough match," said Nadal of his quarter-final.
"Sure going to be a really tough match. I was close to losing in Australia - it was really emotional match. I'm going to try to play my game tomorrow, try to play aggressive and play like today. He has a very good forehand, good serve, and here the ball has good topspin and that can help him. But if I am playing my best, I hope I'll have my chances for victory. I'm going try to play aggressive, and we will see."
Nadal to play in Thailand Eurosport - Thu, 30 Apr 14:01:00 2009
"I am very pleased to finally be able to come and compete at the PTT Thailand Open. I look forward to playing some great tennis for all the Thai fans," Nadal said.
French Open
