ผู้เขียนได้มีโอกาสร่วมสวดมนต์และรับพรในพระอุโบสถ วัดหมื่นนาฯ ในวันนี้ ซึ่งเป็นวันสังขารล่อง พอดี และ ได้สรงน้ำพระพุทธรูป ณ.วัดแห่งนี้ด้วยครับ.

พระอุโบสถสร้างขึ้นในปีพ.ศ. 2076 ในสมัยพระเจ้าโพธิสาระ ต่อมาบูรณะอีกหลายครั้งจนเป็นดังที่เห็นในปัจจุบัน มีลักษณะศิลปะแบบหลวงพระบางทั่วไป ด้านข้างมีพระธาตุองค์ใหญ่รูปสี่เหลี่ยมย่อมุม มีหออูบมุงอยู่ไม่ไกล ที่ผนังด้านนอกมีรูปปั้นสัตว์ทำจากดินเผาสีล้อมรอบ.

วัดหมื่นนา ชมพูอาราม ติดลำน้ำคาน สิมของวัดแห่งนี้สร้างขึ้นในปี พ.ศ.2076 โดยพระบิดาเลี้ยงของเจ้าชมพู ราชโอรสของพระยาหล้า แสนไตรภูวนาถ
ต่อมาชาวได้ปฏิสังขรณ์ขึ้นใหม่ เมื่อ พ.ศ.2463 ในสมัยเจ้ามหาชีวิต ศรีสว่างวงศ์ และ เพื่อเป็นเครื่องประกอบความศรัทธาในการปลูกสร้างวัด ชาวบ้านทุกคนจึงนำข้าวในนาของตนคนละหนึ่งหมื่นมาเป็นส่วนประกอบ (ข้าวหนึ่งหมื่น ชั่งได้ประมาณ 12 กิโลกรัม) จึงเป็นชื่อที่มาของวัดแห่งนี้.
สิ่งก่อสร้างที่สำคัญคือ สิม (พระอุโบสถ) เป็นสิมที่สร้างขึ้นใหม่ บริเวณโดยรอบผนังมีการเขียนภาพจิตรกรรมสมัยใหม่ เป็นนิทานต่างๆของชาวลาว.
อูบมุง มีความสำคัญมาก เพราะมีจารึกบนผนังด้านทิศตะวันออก กล่าว่า สร้างโดย อัครวรราชครูศรีสุริยพงศ์วรศา เมื่อ พ.ศ.2164 อันเป็นหลักฐานที่ถือว่าเก่าแก่ที่สุด ที่ทำให้ทราบถึงการสร้างอูบมุง และ มีความเป็นไปได้ว่า การสร้างอูบมุงอาจเป็นที่นิยมมาแล้วก่อนหน้านี้ก็เป็นได้.
พระธาตุ มีรูปแบบคล้ายกับเจดีย์ทรงระฆังแบบล้านนา สันนิษฐานว่าน่าจะมีอายุในราว ปลายพุทธศตวรรษที่ 21.

Wat Munna (built 1533)
Wat Munna (Meunn na, Mune Na, or Mounena Somphouaram), "The Monastery of Ten Thousand Rice Fields," was originally constructed during the reign of King Phothisarat (1520-1548) in 1533. The name is derived from the requirement of a contribution of one meun (about 12 kg) of rice collected from the field of each villager. The surname "Somphouaram", refers to the secular world but also to the Sangha, the community of ordained monks, and where they meet to discuss secular and sacred matters. Wat Munna is located near the town side entry to the Srisavangvong pedestrian and cycle bridge that crosses the Nam Khan River; except for the mostly local traffic using the crossing, the wat is quiet and off the traditional tourist path.
The original sim was quite simple, with a single nave and porch facing the southwest. Next to the sim was a vaulted chapel and stupa. Lateral galleries were added to the northeast and southwest sides in 1949, and there have been more recent restorations including the creation of a bright and colorful facade. In vermillion and gold, and reflecting a style found on other wats in Luang Prabang, it includes both vegetative swirls and geometric designs. On both the front and rear pedimental areas, there are representations of Indra riding Airavata (or Erawan, in Thai), the three-headed elephant. On the front facade, a variety of plant forms flow from the central figure of Indra. A similar pattern is in the rear pediment, which sets high above a plain white wall; Indra and Airavata are surrounded with swirling vegetative forms and protected by three double-headed nagas beneath. Murals on both interior and exterior walls of the nave depict the various early lives of the Buddha. The restored small vaulted chapel and stupa are on the northwest side of the sim.
