I Have a Dream...
I have a dream, a fantasy To help me through reality And my destination makes it worth the while Pushing through the darkness still another mile I believe in angels ....Something good in everything I see I believe in angels...When I know the time is right for me I'll cross the stream - I have a dream
Q. He said after the match that he felt like you didn't have quite the same confidence you had a year ago, didn't feel like you were going for the shots as much as you used to be. Do you think that's correct?
RAFAEL NADAL: That's an opinion. Probably that's correct. Nobody's with the same confidence in every moment of his career. That's true. But one year ago of the second round I didn't went for those shots, too. I played defensive match, suffering a lot against Istomin, having 5 1, something like this I think in the tiebreak, for him in the second set. The people remember probably you, too the people remember the last day when you are with the trophy, when you play fantastic the final. But to arrive this moment is not everything a way of roses, no? You didn't play fantastic every match and every moment. And last year I didn't. I improved a little bit every day last year to win the tournament playing very well, and that's what happen thousand of times. In Roland Garros I started this year playing very bad the first week. I played good semifinals and very good final. That's tennis. Not everybody's ready to start from the beginning to play perfect. Sometimes you are not ready to start perfect and you cannot improve during the tournament, so you go back home. That's the sport. We will see if I am ready to improve. I improved a little bit for the third round. I'm happy for that. We'll see next round.
It's not everything a way of roses....
Q. David Nalbandian tomorrow?
RAFAEL NADAL: For me he's a very dangerous opponent. I had very tough matches against him. How is the head to head? I lost first two, first three, I don't know. I lost against him in Madrid, Paris. I don't remember the other one. I beat him in an unbelievable match in Indian Wells 2009, and I beat him in Miami 2010 probably. Both matches was tough. We'll see. He's dangerous. He's a very good player. We know each other really good. We practice a lot together. He's a good friend. Will be a very good test for me.
Another article on Rafa's haircut:
When it comes to his hair Rafael Nadal is a creature of habit, and also perhaps a little superstitious.
The defending U.S. Open champion returned to the Julien Farel Salon on Madison Avenue Wednesday for a fifth straight year to get his tournament trim.
Boasted Farel to the New York Post, "He can only win if he sees me."
But here's the funny part. Farel says fans of Nadal have offered $250 for Nadal's clipped hair, but that he had "too much respect" for the tennis champ to go that route, "Even though I could make a lot."
For those of you, who’ve never heard of me, please be informed that I normally use English to communicate as it takes me a long time to type in Thai but will try to do it from time to time.
I’m so sick and tired of some topics/comments on Pantip. Many apologies for the language and for venting like this. So, I'm very glad there's a place/block here where we can talk and share our support for Rafa.
Anyway, it’s a very good win for Rafa against Muller tonight. He played much better and hopefully this win will help boost his confidence. But most of all, I hope that he is fully fit and will be injury free throughout the tourney and for Davis Cup next week.
Still, the schedules have me worried slightly because Rafa (assuming that he makes it to the final again) has to play the rest 3 matches in 3 days while a player from top half (Fed or Djoker or Tsonga or perhaps Tipsaravic???) will play just 2 matches unless the organizers decide to move the final to Mon (which I doubt) or there’ll be further rain delay. Will keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.
Sorry for bringing that up. It’s better that I try to ignore those nasty few and negative energies from now on. Still sometimes I couldn’t help but reading appalling criticisms against Rafa and feeling the need to defend him from time to time. Lets’s change the topic, shall we?
I’m so happy that our boy is in the final again. Hopefully, he’ll be able to get Djoker monkey off his back and fully concentrate on his game at hand. If he can do that, I truly believe we’ll get to see him lift the trophy again before dawn here. But no matter what the outcome is, I’ll be behind Rafa always.
Plus, a tweet from Douglas Robson (who covers tennis for USA Today) ---- “Post s match: Djokovic dances, Nadal gives tribute to 9/11 victims. Don't say the sport doesn't have personality.”
Khun Moothong, I agree with you. Rafa's lack of confidence against Djo is the main reason for his poor performance today and everyone can sense that. I can't bear to watch the match anymore but I'm following live scores on line instead.
Rafa's just held his serve and leads 4-3 in the 3rd set. If the old Rafa (the ultimate fighter) shows up and is able to curve his nerve, anything can happen. We just have to wait and see. Fingers crossed!
Rafa : Nole 2:1 3:1 just a little wide out from Nole 4:1 5:1 FH winner so stronf from Rafa 5:2 2nd serve so good from Nole 5:3 Nole push on BH side 6:3 The great shot from Rafa. This is Superb !! And rafa get the 3rd set
Rafa looked tired and fortune favored the tougher stronger one today. Even though I’m not convinced that Djo is really injured, I can’t deny he’s the best player this year and deserves to win this US Open title.
But like Rafa said, he’ll try to improve his game and find solutions. And I truly believe that he can and will.
Will look forward to seeing the old in-form Rafa come back with full confidence and unwavering determination.
He is the man of the year
น่าสนุกและน่าติดตาม (กว่าเฮียเฟด แน่นอน) Have a good day !!
But you know what? I go back home knowing that I am on the way. You know, I like to fight, I want to enjoy about this battle against him. Six straight loses, for sure that's painful. But I'm going to work every day until that changes.
"If I have to say two things about I'm not happy tonight, it's my serve for sure the first one. Because if my serve works really well, I know I have the challenge, The mental challenge for sure. Losing six times affects in the match, and you have to know that. And I know. I was ready for that. So accept everything, to fight every ball, and that's what I did. So I'm happy about that. But I didn't have free points during all that games. I didn't have not one free point in both sets.
A few moments that you are tired and the few moments you really need something, I never had these free points. Last year I had; I didn't have this year. That change a lot the match. My serve has to come back to another level.
RAFAEL NADAL: No, no, no. I think he's always ready to -- he's having less mistakes than before. In my opinion, that's all. He's enough confident in every moment to keep believing in one more ball, one more ball. So that's why. I think his forehand is not more painful than before; his backhand is not more painful than before; he serve the same. So what I have to say is what I feel and what I told you
I don't consider myself that good, you know.
Q. Yeah. You won Roland Garros but you could not win Wimbledon and the US Open.
RAFAEL NADAL: I don't feel any obligation to win the tournament. That's the true, no? I am not that one that feels that the final is a bad result. I don't consider myself that good, you know. I fight to be always there. I fight all the time to win every match. I appreciate the result. Final is fantastic result. Winning ten Grand Slams this year I won another one, Roland Garros. I lost six finals, but I was there. So, you know, it's smart accept the loses with the same calm as the victories, and keep working without thinking on the past. I was in the final of Wimbledon, final of US Open. I fighted both of them, especially this one. I go back to Spain more happy today than after the Wimbledon final, because after here I think I am on the right way to try to win him. After Wimbledon I didn't feel that. That's it. He was good. He did really well. Last year I won three Grand Slams; this year I won one. I played three finals, and I think I played the last six, eight Grand Slams I played around semifinals. So for me is a fantastic result. It's a dream result.
ราฟายังบอกเองว่า "Mentally I'm fine, but physically it's complicated. There are things that do not help as the games are five sets and one that can not do is hurt," และ "I will do everything possible to arrive on Friday, but if it were not because I represent my country I would not make the effort. I'm going to do because it's my dream to be Friday if the captain deems it necessary, but there are few miracles here,"
I’ve just ordered it on line.
Khun Moothong, I read Rafa's post final match interview too. Like you, the more we read/know about him and his view / thoughts, etc., the more we love and admire him. He is really special and unique. So proud to be his fan.
Re his hamstring injury, I hope it’s not serious. In case he can’t play in Davis Cup, I wouldn’t mind if he just goes there as a cheerleader or a team mascot sitting on the bench encouraging his teammates to give their bests. :D
