After the exam, I filled my schedule with many many things for my personal pleasure... Those included driving my older son to play in tennis tournaments.
In the state where I live, there would be tens of tennis tournaments during summer time. My son NB was 7 years old so he had to enroll in the boy's division 10-and-under. Basically, there were 3 levels that we could enroll him into; novice, satellite and open.
This year, NB played once each in satellite and open level before... The results were 0-3. In these two levels, players were strong and tough... So it wasn't surprising that NB would be beaten badly.... Normally, the players would be ten or so... maybe close to third or fourth graders... maybe around 5' tall...
NB?... 7 years old, first grader and 4'3" tall... So we were afraid that he might lose his confidence so we enroll him to the novice level.
There were 3 players in this tournament so there were two matches; one on Friday and another one on Saturday.
The first match was held at 7PM in a city of LM around 30 miles south of the city we lived. The opponent AR came from another city he was 10 years old, and he stood around 5'2".
To win the match, the player who reached 8 games first won the match. The first 8 games of the match were really close, there were at least 5 games playing into deuces... After that NB could figure out how to beat AR's primary weapon, dropshots. So he won 4 straight games and won the match with a score of 8-4.
The second match was held on the following day at 11AM. NB played with JS who was 10 years old and stood around 5' tall. Anyway, JS just started to play tennis for a year so his tennis skills were not that competitive compared to AS. As a result, NB won this match quite easily with the score of 8-1.
So this became his first championship in his young tennis career!!

The next one will be a tournament in the open level, NB and I were not that optimistic that he would win... But, heartfeltly, NB said he would play better and better to be more competitive compared to those higher ranked, older players!! (Note: As of today (05/28/06), NB is ranked 24th of the state in his division.)

Although, a love to write is still intact... But having less time is related to having less imagination.... Therefore, I could not come up with new writings for quite some times.

As noted above, my love to write is still the same... and will not be changed. Sometimes somehow, I hope I could come back and give some thoughts in this blog once more.

I believe in power of knowledge/education. I think every society can be a better society with knowledge. Ignorance can be dispelled by it. Humanity can live sustainably and harmoniously with each other along with its biosphere with understandings in the nature surrounding it.
Apart from my philosophical thoughts reflecting who I am, I can tell you something I like or love in particular;
I love dogs.... Particularly, labradore retrievers.... One day, I would like to spend my time and life with them as a big part of my family.
Zhuge Liang is my hero. With his wisdom and faithfulness, he led a tiny army to a mighty and formidable kingdom. He left his humble residence with a hope to come back. But, sadly, he had never returned and died far far away from home in a horse carriage in a battle field. If I could choose where I would, I would say where-ever my lovely wife was nearby.
I value happiness and my family as my first priority. My profession and my philosophy come in the second. Pursuit in wealth has never been in my desire.
