Things to feel bad about today...
Coming back from the cinema earlier and the bus driver was listening to the news. It was in Thai, and the newsreader spoke quite quickly so it was hard to catch. I heard that there was some sort of accident, and that 66 people had died, but I didn't quite understand the rest of it.
There was the engine noise, other passengers talking, the noise of the traffic outside and Clair waxing lyrical about the movie we'd just seen to contend with too.
I came home, and looked at the TV in the lobby. Nothing special, just Premier League footie. Went upstairs, got my laptop and logged onto the net. Again, nothing usual at first. Then I saw the BBC Website. Top story. Plane crash in Phuket, 88 dead. The death toll's still rising. Aparently the plane came down whilst trying to land in heavy rain, skidded off the runway and broke into two.
It's awful. I feel so sorry for anyone who has family or friends who were travelling there today, and are probably desperate for news about whether they are OK or not.
