Pesticides in Food (Phosphate and Cabamate)
Test Kit for Pesticides in Food (Phosphate and Carbamate Group) (Test Time 10 Test)
Self Food Quality Care Pesticides and insecticides are poisonous agents limited for agricultural use only. Pesticide must not exceed the amount specified in the Ministry of Public Healths Act No. 163 (B.E.2538). In fact, Pesticide residue over standard is still found in many kinds of food. The Department of Medical Sciences has developed kit for consumers to test pesticide residue (phosphate, carbamate groups) in food, with fast and reliable result.
Health Impact
Consumption of food contained pesticide residue can cause weakness, low immunity. Obtaining high concentration of pesticides can cause dizziness, vomiting, dyspnea, and cardiac arrest.
Target Sample
Fresh vegetable and fruit, salted fish.
Number of Tests / Kit
10 Tests
Sensitivity of Test Kit
Detection limit : 0.05 mg./kg.
Test Kit Tool
A. Reagent set Extract reagent 1 Extract reagent 2 GT 1 GT 2 GT 2.1 GT 3 GT 3.1 GT 4 GT 5
B. Equipment set Warm water tray Evaporated sample tool Plastic dropper Plastic bottle Thermometer Test tube Glass dropper Testing handbook
Procedure
1. Spoon chopped food 5 grams (about level 2 of plastic bottle.)
2. Add 5 ml. of extract reagent 1, close cap vigorously shake, and leave for 10-15 minutes.
3. Draw 1 ml. of extract reagent 1 from step 2, and drop in a test tube. Add 1 ml. of extract reagent 1 (lower part) is evaporated. (For steps from now, perform in warm water tray). 4. Use 3 new test tubes, add reagents as follow : First tube, add extract reagent 2, level 1 of dropper. Second tube, add extract reagent 2, level 1 of dropper. Third tube, add extract reagent from step 3, level 1 of dropper.
Add reagent GT 1 in every tube, level 2 of dropper leave them for 5-10 minutes.
5. While waiting in step 4, add reagent GT 2.1 in reagent GT 2 which now is called Mixed reagent GT 2, and add reagent GT 3.1 in reagent GT 3 which now is called Mixed reagent GT 3.
6. Add mixed reagent GT 2 (from step 5) level 1.5 of dropper in first tube, and level 1 of dropper in second and third tubes, leave them for 1 hour. 7. Add mixed reagent GT 3 (from step 5) level 4 of dropper in every tube, followed by reagent GT 4 level 2 of dropper shake, and add reagent GT 5 level 2 of dropper, shake, and notice the color in 3 tubes and interpret the results as the table.
Evaluation
Color of liquid in tubes Interpretation
1.Tube 3 is lighter than or the same as tube 2
2. Tube 3 is lighter than tube 1 but darker than tube 2
3. Tube 3 is darker than or the same as tube 1
1. Not found pesticide 2. Pesticide is found but in the safe level 3. Pesticide is found at unsafe level
