Consumption of salicylic acid-contaminated food is health hazard. According to the Ministry of Public Healths Act No.151 (B.E.2536), salicylic acid is prohibited to use in food additive. In fact, salicylic acid is still found in many kinds of food. Therefore, the Department of Medical Sciences has developed this kit for consumers to test salicylic acid in food, with fast and reliable result.
Health Impact Consuming of salicylic acid in high concentration (25-35 miligrams/100 milliliters of blood) can cause vomiting, dizziness, fever, and death
Target Sample Pickled vegetable or pickled fruit.

2 Plastic cup 2 Droppers 1 Bottle of salicylic acid (reagent1) 1 Bottle of salicylic acid (reagent 2) 1 Sheet of test kit handbook
Procedure
1. Pour 5 milliliters liquid portion of sample into cups 1 and 2 (numbering before pouring).
2. Add 10 drops of salicylic acid (reagent 1) into cup2.
3. Add salicylic acid (reagent 2) into both cups, ½ tube (1cc.) each.
Evaluation
If cup 1 has the same color as cup2, such sample contains salicylic acid. If the color of cup 1 is different form that of cup 2, such sample contains no salicylic acid.
Precaution When contact salicylic acid reagent, wash with running water and soap. Keep testing kit out of children reach.
Keeping/ Age Keep at room temperature/ 2 years.
