Spirited Away
  
Spirited Away or Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi (千と千尋の神隠し) (Jul 2001) is an Academy Award winning 2001 film, the second Oscar ever awarded for Best Animated Feature and so on.
Chihiro is a little girl who moves to the country with her parents. They lose their way and come across a tunnel, and out of curiousity, they enter, not knowing that they have come across a resort for the gods, a kind of mythological Japanese spirit world. After her mother and father help themselves to some tasty purloined morsels, they turn into giant pigs. Chihiro understandably freaks out and flees. She learns that this very weird place, where all sorts of bizarre gods and monsters reside, is a holiday resort for the supernatural after their exhausting tour of duty in the human world. Soon after befriending a boy named Haku, Chihiro learns the rules of the land: one, she must work , as laziness of any kind is not tolerated; and two, she must take on the new moniker of Sen. If she forgets her real name, Haku tells her, then she will never be permitted to leave.
  
I've watched this film for over 10 times, each time I finish the film I feel like I find some more clue to help me understand Japanese social and culture at the film's time, 2001 AD, I even find kind-of-philosophy thought
 I've ever discuss with my 2 sensei and we agreed that this film refered to Japanese social that people lose themselves and stopped caring on anything. Besides, we also agreed that Haku was the real Hollywood star and poker-fact guy when he met Chihiro at Yubaba's office and Chihiro's a sullen, spoiled, and very modern Japanese girl, being forced to grow up when faced with more traditional Japanese culture and manners but so cute and turn to be nice in the end. Well, I'd better watch it one more time.
