Egypt: 2nd Day in Luxor & Sailing to Edfu
Egypt: The 2nd day in Luxor & Sailing to Edfu

Today schedule has been announced since yesterday. We have to wake up very early again. We, girls, woke up a bit late from what we planned, around 6 am ... Starting with shower ... make up and get dress ... imagine 3 girls sharing a toilet, and have only one and a half hours. Basically half an hour each. The breakfast time was 7am to 8 am, the guys came to knock out door at 7.30 am, we were still not ready yet. We lets them go first and meet them later. When we finished, they were almost finish their breakfast! Very fast eater!

Well the schedule today was starting at 8 am with Valley of the King visiting 3 or 4 tombs, visiting a alabastar factory, and then go to see the Al-Deir Al-Bahari Temple (Queen Hatshepsut) passing Valley of the queen. Before back to the Cruise, we had a chance to see the Colossi of Memnon for 10 minutes.

Getting off the cruise, got in a bus, today we had 19 people in our group. A bit more than yesterday. 5 of us, 4 of Japanese Family who currently live in Bahrain, 4 of Indian family from London, a couple from Canada, and 4 of American family. It made 20 including our guide.

After we got in the bus, as usual I sat with N' Pear. But the others sat separatly! Didn't we come together? Anyway, P' Aey had her first chance to talk to Jo's dad, our favorite boy! , He is so cute.

We then proceeded to the Valley of the Kings, on the way, Romani, our guide told us some stories about the tombs, unfortunately I was not awake yet! so I hardly remember anything. After we arrived the Valley of the Kings, a new lecture started about why it built here and rules of visiting the inside, the most important thing is no photo inside!

It was a very hot day. but the sky was very beautiful. Here are some pictures I took.

The mountain looks like pyramid, the reson of building the tombs here.

All the tombs have got similar lay out, four fake doors which were sealed and Anubeast as a protector, treasure rooms, and coffin rooms. Many rooms inside the tombs just to hide them from robery. The walls alongside were wonderful crafted and coloured. Some tombs are very large, some are small. The size of the tombs is related to how long the Pharoh crowned. As the tomb was started to build when the Pharoh was start the croronation, then finish when he passed away.

We had decided to pay extra of 70 Egyptian pounds to visit Tutancamen Tomb, the smallest one. Inside is very small, but the mummy is there with the mask! It was a good experience. Eventually no photo inside. So, I have got only the picture of the notice board.

Here is some information boards:

After that we finished the Valley, we then went to a Barzarr to see a demonstration of Alabaster statue production, good one! but expensive. I managed to but a small Pyramid and Sphinx for my dad. (I don't know he will like it or not, but I like it!)

Then the next stop was Hashipsut Temple, I can't remember the real name, bits difficult. It was rebuilt from only 20 % remainings by UN. It look stunting as you can see from the pictures.

Then we were almost ready to serve ... as either Lunch or dinner as roasted Thai people . We were then heading back to the cruise for Lunch and sail to Edfu in the afternoon. However before that we stopped by two big statues in the picture, it was almost 1 pm ... extremely hot! 10 minute out there is ... no word can explain!

After that we went back to the cruise, and had lunch, Egyptian buffet again. The Cruise was starting to sail to Edfu. We stayed in the cruise the rest of the day, watched the scenario along the nile.
