Success without contentment is yet another illusion
Lately i've been thinking a lot about my career as my life is yet again comes to a major turning point. Within a few weeks, i'll be moving back --for good -- to where my first 22 years of life began.
I've been out of the job market for a little over a year. I have to admit that i'm afraid my skills might have gone a little rusty , and it could take me a while to get back on the career track. Anyway, up to this moment, i'm still debating with myself over the issue of what i really want out of a job. Do i value money over peace of mind? What kind of job can keep me interested for a long time? We're talking 5+ years here. . . . .
I looked at my peers for inspiration, yet felt so far behind. At this moment, some of them are already up in the management ranks! (Wow!) Part of me is happy for them, but part of me is jealous of what they have. Still, why do they complain that their jobs suck? That they would love to trade places with me?
Seems like none of us is satisfied with what we have...
. . . .
"Different lives of different people cannot be put on a contest because none of them are racing on the same track," a good friend told me, which i think is true. . . . . . .
OMG! It is true!
Just that it's not easy for a person to see things that way. It's more like we're programed to be competitive at birth. . . . .
Come to think of it, success will be fairly measured only if we challenge it against our goals, not against other people's. Because noone else is running on this track, except you, the aspiration you're fulfilling must be yours.
And success would mean nothing but an illusion, if your heart is never contented.
Is your heart contented?

"The pasture is always greener on the other side." People will not always be satisfied of what they have until they lose it.
Please be happy like you always are and prepare yourself for a new challenge in Thailand.
Bon Courrage et bonne chance!
