I do not see any problem you are talking about. However, I personally agree with my friend that writing in English, a good article, is easier to understand than that of writing in Thai.
The good article always tells the reader what the author wants to communicate and usually indicates the supporting ideas within its introduction. Unlike Thai article, it seems to me that the narrator cannot make it clear enough what s/he would like to spin out. Then, it is emphasized with the more detail at the beginning and confuses the reader.
Not only you who have been educated in the U.S. for a long time have such problem, but also do the students cultivated in Thailand share the same problem. I though it derives from the way we think in Thai and also the nature of language, that is, Thai language seems to not explicitly detail the direct target in the preamble. Most authors love to do in that way. In addition, we also do not use the punctuations which clearly tell the reader about its functions of subordinate clause or main clause, etc.
For instance, I always subject to the problem when reading Thai article. Sometimes, the authors stop sentence without the clear idea, and there is no supporting details to clarify the pertinent point.
I think you can write article in Thai based on the idea you think in English. In my point view, doing so will facilitate the reader to grasp what you are trying to propose. The clear and direct point - without difficult terms that you always use - will help the audience comprehend all of your contexts.
