Beauty with a Purpose is something very important to the Miss World Organisation and each contestant.....and tonight was a chance for the contestants to raise more money for this international cause.

Each contestant carried with them from their country an auction gift.  Something to symbolise their country and share some of their culture with the auction bidders.  Over the past 2 weeks each auction item has been photographed, filmed and listed and they were ready to be presented to the high profile businesses invited to attend the auction dinner.

A staggering 26 Million RMB was raised and donated on the same night to local causes.

Congratulations and thank you to all the contestants who carried their gifts from far and wide....you really did make a difference in so many peoples lives tonight.

Beautiful, unusual and carried all the way for their home countries, the contestants this year really did a wonderful job choosing their auction items.

Below is just an example of some of the items brought to China for 'Beauty with a Purpose'.

	Australia. A hand crafted Kaleidoscope (no. 6167) on a wooden stand. Constructed with Australian gemstones on two object wheels and a brass and copper tube.
	Australia. A unique 18 carat gold handcrafted South Sea pearl pendant. The round pearl is 10.5mm’s diameter with a good luster and surface. The pearl is set with a total of 0.25 carat round brilliant diamonds of G colour and VS clarity in a pave setting.
	Kenya. A bronze cast statue of an elephant family on a wooden base. Sculpted and caste by Denis Mathews
	Venezuela. A necklace made of precious and semi-precious stones set in gold and silver. Exclusive and unique with a reference number AAMO 003. Crafted by Lelia Lopez
	Panama. Authentic rail spike from 1912 used in the construction of the Miraflores Locks on the Panama Canal. Presented with a certificate of Authenticity.
	New Zealand. 9 carat gold ring with gold New Zealand ferns on each strand. The setting is platinum holding a 1.25 carat natural black diamond. The ring is unique and handmade by Zora Bell Boyd.
	Trinidad and Tobago. A professional steel drum in a leather case with drum sticks. Attractive chromium face to drum
	Argentina. A leather Gaucho belt with silver buckle, decoration and fittings.
	Sweden. A unique glass sculpture in the shape of a bottle. Crafted by Kosta Boda.
	Russia. A Boyarka and Mittens. The Boyarka is decorated with fur and has a silk lining. Unique and made by LJUIK
	Vietnam. A buffalo horn bugle. Hand crafted.
	Puerto Rico. Detailed and decorative bongo drum with bongo music CD’s
	Portugal. A beautifully illustrated book of Portugal of which there are only 5 copies
	Ireland. A cut glass lead crystal vase by Tipperary Crystal.
	India. A gold statue of a peacock in a glass and wood case
	South Africa. An unusual lampshade crafted from porcupine quills. Complete with all electrical fittings
