Miss World Contestants at the FIFA World Cup ‘Fan Fest’ Draw in Cape Town
Miss World contestants are VIP guests on football’s biggest stage
From early afternoon Miss World contestants were joining in the celebrations as the world prepared for the draw of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The young ladies were invited on stage to a huge cheer at the pre-draw 'Fan Fest' where they were holding up replica soccer shirts.
The contestants were then introduced to the mayor of Johannesburg and the mayor of CapeTown as the excitement throughout the city was building. Serbia was given a special treat as the crowd sang Happy Birthday to her on her 21st Birthday.
It was then announced that 100,000 people were in Long Street. This was a record amount of people for an outdoor crowd in the city of Cape Town.
The whole city turned into an enormous street party, and as the draw took place, the representatives watched on nervously to see which countries will play each other in the competition next year.
