Statements by President Bartomeu
It is a huge honour for FC Barcelona and its Foundation to have been chosen to receive the Variety Humanitarian Award that has been awarded since 1941. FC Barcelona feels completely identified with the work of Variety in benefit of underprivileged children around the world
I am sure that you will have heard it said that Barça is more than a club. We are convinced that beyond sporting success, Barça is also admired and recognised around the world for the values it transmits and its social and charity commitments.
Football and cinema share a common objective: to make people happy. FC Barcelona and Variety also share the same commitment: for underprivileged children around the world to have a better future and this award is an example of that.
