The Two R's Work Their Goalscoring Magic
Fulham 2 United 3, Craven Cottage FA Premier League
Fulham 2 Manchester United 3 Craven Cottage, 1 Oct 2005
There was no mention of boring football at Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon where Manchester United and Fulham provided rich entertainment for the sell-out crowd.
Ruud van Nistelrooy and Wayne Rooney continued to monopolise Uniteds Premiership scoring by grabbing all the goals in a 3-2 win down by the Thames. The Dutch Master scored twice, one from the penalty spot, whilst Rooney was also on the mark.
It was quite simply the best game of football in which United have been involved since the season began six weeks ago.
The main talking point amongst United supporters on the journey south to the capital was predictably skipper Roy Keanes revelation that he is intends to leave United at the end of the current. The back pages of the national papers were scrutinised as the fans offered their opinions on that burning subject and any others that may have cropped up since they last met on an away excursion.
