ทั้งนี้ X-Men : Days of Future Past บอกเล่าเรื่องราวของอนาคตอีกทางหนึ่งของเหล่ามนุษย์กลายพันธุ์ เมื่อพวกเขาเกิดขัดแย้งกันเอง จนถูกกลุ่มที่ต่อต้านจ้องทำลายล้างพวกเขาทั้งหมด กำจัดไปทีละคน ๆ และนำมาสู่หายนะของโลก
เมื่อ คิตตี้ ไพรด์ ผู้รอดชีวิตคนสุดท้ายของกลุ่ม ส่ง วูล์ฟเวอรีน เดินทางย้อนเวลา ทำให้เขาได้พบกับ โปรเฟสเซอร์เอ็กซ์, โร้ก และ แม็กนีโต ในอดีต อย่างไรก็ดี การเดินทางข้ามเวลาครั้งนี้ มนุษย์กลายพันธุ์มองหาโอกาสพาโลแกนกลับมายังโลกอนาคตด้วย และเหตุการณ์นี้เองที่ทำให้ โร้ก กลายมาเป็นกุญแจสำคัญของเรื่อง
