Reached back for the bottle And rubbed against the lamp Genie came out smiling Like some Eastern tramp He said, hey boy what's happening What is going on You can have three wishes If you don't take too long If you don't take too long I said well I wish they were all happy in the Lebanon Wish somebody'd help me write this song And I wish when I was young My old man had not been gone Genie said consider it done There's something in the air And you don't know what it is You see someone through the window Who you've just learned to miss And the road leads on to glory but You used up your last wish Your last wish And you want her to come home Bring her home Genie said I'm sorry That's the way it goes Where the hell's the lamp sucker It's time for me to go Bye There's something in the air And you don't know what it is You see someone through the window Who you've just learned to miss And the road leads on to glory But you used up your last wish Your last wish And you want her to come home จริง ๆ แล้วเพลงนี้ไม่ใช่เพลงที่เจ๋งที่สุดในอัลบั้มนี้หรอกครับ เพียงแต่มันเป็นเพลงที่ฟังแล้วให้ความรู้สึกแบบ The Wall กลับมา คือ เวลาผมฟังอัลบั้มนี้ของ Waters (อดีตมือเบส , นักแต่งเพลง และเจ้าของคอนเซปท์หลายอัลบั้มของ Pink Floyd) ทีไร จะรู้สึกว่ามันเป็น The Final Cut ภาคสอง ที่ดนตรีพัฒนาหลากหลายขึ้น (แต่ใน Final Cut บางเพลงดนตรีจะแน่นกว่า เช่น The Gunner's Dream) เนื้อหาเพลงนี้เศร้ามาก เป็นเรื่องของแม่ที่พยายามจะทิ้งลูกเอาไว้ แต่พอลูกไปถูตะเกียงวิเศษจนยักษ์จินนี่ออกมาบอกให้ขอพรได้สามอย่าง ตัวลูกก็ขอให้ เลบานอนสงบสุข , ขอให้ช่วยเขาเขียนเพลงนี้ขึ้นมา แล้วก็ไม่ให้พ่อเขาเสียชีวิตเมื่อเขายังเด็ก (Theme พ่อตายกลายเป็น Theme สากลของ Roger Waters ไปแล้ว) แต่มีสิ่งหนึ่งที่เขาลืมไปและเพิ่งนึกได้ คือเขาลืมขอให้แม่ตัวเองกลับมา... น่าเสียดายที่เขาใช้พรครบทุกข้อแล้ว ครบหมดแล้ว... สารภาพว่า ก่อนดูหนังเรื่องนี้ก็คิดไม่ต่างไปจากทาสเงาหรอก คือ ถ้าถามว่าเชิดชูมั้ย มันก็ทำให้เกิดความรู้สึกดีๆ แต่ไม่ใช่แนวดีแบบเว่อร์ ตื้นตันกับการเป็นฮีโร่ อะไรประมาณนั้นเลยนะ มันเป็นแบบ..เออ..พวกเราจำเป็นต้องทำว่ะ มันไม่มีทางเลือกน่ะ ลองไปดูสิ   โดย: สาวไกด์ใจซื่อ 15 สิงหาคม 2549 13:00:33 น.
