ประสบเกินการสัมภาษณ์งาน.. ตอนที่ 2 (Eng)

ความเดิมจากตอนที่เเล้ว ..
เรากำลังเตรียมตัวเตรียมใจเป็นสาวโรงงานค่ะ

จนเวลาล่วงเลย มาถึงช่วงสอบปลายภาค ...
เราเป็นพวกเสือตีนปลายค่ะ

ไม่เข้าเรียน ไม่อ่านล่วงหน้า ไม่ซุ่ม ไม่อะไรทั้งนั้น ...
เเต่จะโผล่หัวไปตอนคาบเเรก กับคาบสุดท้าย
เอาหัวข้อที่จะสอบ เเละ X-rox เลคเชอร์จากเพื่อนๆ ..
ทุกชุดที่ใครเอาไปซี เราจะขอบวก1 นะจ๊ะ
เเล้วมาดองไว้อ่านวันก่อนสอบ

ตารางสอบเทอมสุดท้ายเราช่างน่ารัก น่าลุ้น

วันศุกร์ก่อนสอบ... ระหว่างนอนอุตุ
(พยายามสร้างอารมณ์ อ่านหนังสือสอบ .. จริงๆนะ)
เสียงโทรศัพท์ ไม่โชว์เบอร์ก็ดังขึ้นอีกครั้ง

สวัสดีค่ะ เรียนสายคุณน้ำผึ้งหยดเดียว สุดสวยค่ะ
(เเน่นอนนั่นคือชื่อจริง นามสกุลจริงของเรา ..
ซะที่ไหนกัน 555 )

รวบรัดตัดน้ำ... นั่นเป็นการนัดสัมภาษณ์ค่ะ
เราวางหูโทรศัพท์ลง ด้วยความงุนงง ..
บริษัทที่สูงเกินคนอย่างเราจะเอื้อม
โทรมาเรียกเราไปสัมภาษณ์เเล้ว!!!!!

เราลังเลเล็กน้อย เพราะวันสัมภาษณ์เนี่ย
ช่างพอเหมาะพอเจาะ พอดิบพอดี
วันอังคารระหว่างสอบ ..

เราตูจะเอาเวลาที่ไหนอ่านหนังสือล่ะนั่น
เเถม เราก็ได้งานที่อยากทำเเล้ว ... จะไปทำไม

เอาน่ะ ไปเเค่ฮาๆ ให้รู้ว่ากิจกรรมกลุ่มเนี่ยเป็นยังไง
สมตามเสียงลือเสียงเล่าอ้างอันพี่ๆได้เล่ามาไหม

เช้าวันสัมภาษณ์ เราไปด้วยความไม่มั่นใจในตัวเอง ..
เราเฝ้าบอกตัวเองว่า ยังไงก็ไม่ได้หรอก
(เเอบเสียดายเวลาอ่านหนังสือด้วยเล็กน้อย)
เราเรียนภาคอาหารนะ บริษัทน้ำมันจะเอาเราไปทำอะไร

ณ ห้องสัมภาษณ์ มีผู้จัดการเเผนกคัดสรรบุคคล
(Recruiting Manager : RM)
เป็นผู้หญิง เคยเป็นวิศวกรมาก่อน เเล้วย้ายมาทำส่วนนี้
กับชายหนุ่มหน้าตี๋คนหนึ่ง (ว่าเป็น วิศวกร: Eng)

Me : Good morning
RM / Eng : Good morning.
RM : Please take a seat.
Me : Thank you.
RM : First of all, please introduce yourself.
Me : My name is ….. ,
I am a fourth year student from XX university,
major Food engineering.
RM : ทำหน้านิ่วคิ้วขมวด ส่ายหน้าเล็กน้อย
เเล้วขีดๆ ฆ่าๆ ในกระดาษ
Me : Excuse me, is there anything wrong?
(คือ อาการเธอชัดเจนมากว่ามีอะไรบางอย่างผิดปรกติ)
RM : No no problem.. (เรายังทำหน้าไม่เชื่อ)
Well.. in my file, you are telecommunication engineer.
Me : Oh.... (เหวอง่ะ ไม่มีคำบรรยายใดๆ)
RM: Well. That’s alright. Go on...

(ถึงจุดนี้ฟางเส้นสุดท้ายของเราขาดไปเเล้ว
ตั้งเเต่เราได้ยินว่า เขานึกว่าเราอยู่ภาคโทรคม
เพราะเราเชื่อว่า ถูกเรียกมาเพราะความเข้าใจผิด
เราลนมาก พูดเถือก พูดผิก พูกไม่ลู้เลื่อง)

Me : Apart from studying,
I also participate student activity.
This year I was president of my faculty.

Eng : Tell me what is Food engineer.
I never heard of it before
(น้ำเสียงหยามเหยียดมากๆ )
Me : Food engineer is ....
basically Mechanical engineer
with Food processing technology.

RM : Why did you choose to study that?
Me : (คำถามนี้เตรียมมา .. นึกการพูดเเบบท่องๆนะ)
I would like to be part of our country development.
Thailand is agriculture country.
I think food industrial is a good deal of value adding

RM : (ไซโคมาก ถอดเเว่น วางปากกา)
Excuse me, but we are not FOOD company.
How can we help you with that?

Me : เหวอ ... ไปเลย อึ้งไปประมาณ 3 วิ
But you asked me why I chose to study this major.
I have different reasons to apply for this job.
Do you want to know?

RM : เหวอมั่ง เป็นไงล่ะ อิอิ OK , Yes.. Go ahead.

Me : I would like to see new technology
and challenge myself.
I also like fluid mechanics.
So I apply for all related industries.
Eng : Such as?
Me : Juice company, milk company and oil company.
Eng : OK. Fair enough.

(RMใส่เเว่น หยิบปากกาขึ้นมาใหม่)
RM : Have you been to the interview then?
Me : Yes, only with a juice company.
RM : Any luck?
Me : (ยิ้ม) I got a job offer.

(เปลี่ยนหัวข้อจากจุดนี้ไปยังไงก็ไม่รู้จำไม่ได้)

RM : From your application, you wrote that
you are able to work well under pressure.
What make you think so?

Me : Because I worked for student association สโมสรนักศึกษา.
I work with a lot of people and there were always a lot of problems.

RM: That is not clear enough. Could you give us example?

Me : (อ่านผ่านไปก็ได้จ้า ยาวง่ะ) This year we have out door activity for 3 days 2 night “รับน้อง” for the entire faculty.. over 1000 participants. We had new idea for the project this year, not following the old tradition. We would stay in military camp, and had planned to have some interesting activities, not just go camping outdoor and have some fun. Unfortunately, the new idea was badly informed to other students. So once we got to the military camp, it turned out to be such a shock. Leader of each groups was not happy and tried to take their group out to somewhere else. It was in mess, and the project leader collapse by stress.

RM: What did you do?

Me : As a president, I had to take it over from there. So I called a meeting for all senior leader and smosorn committee. Some aggressive group-leader refused to come to the meeting, so some committees had to go talk to them at the meantime. The meeting was to remind them that we all had the same objective, to welcome our freshy and discuss what we can do to improve the situation.

RM: What was the result?

Me : Everyone stayed but we had to re-plan schedule a bit and clarify what we can and what we can not do with the military camp boss.

RM : Did it work?
Me : (smile) Yes, of course.

RM: For you, what is more important with study or activity?

Me : Although, I spent more time with activity. But they are both important to me. I took activity seriously. I considered it as work, but what I earn is experience, not money.

RM : Does activity effect your study?

Me : I want to say that they are not related. Both are my responsibility. I know how well I prepare and I deserve what I get.

Eng : Do you think you got a good grade?
(น้ำเสียงกวนโอ๊ยมาก ขอบอก)

Me : I am satisfy with it what I get.

Eng : So you think it is good? (กวนตีนสุดๆเเล้ว)

Me : I don’t have good reason to get better grade.
(ตอบเหมือนยโสนะ เเต่เราว่าเราใช้เสียงสุภาพมากๆ)

Eng : (หัวเราะเยาะ) What do you mean by you don’t get reason to get better grade?

Me : I study for knowledge and understanding, not only to get good grade.

Eng : How could it be possible that you have good understanding but don’t get good grade?

Me : Grade is only from the exam.

Eng : Are you saying that you are not good at exam?

Me : I think so.

Eng : How can you have knowledge and understand the subject but can not do well in exam?

Me : Because sometimes I think what more important is how to apply it in reality , not only to remember everything from text. For example , if you learn Plant design, it is more important to know how to design the plant than who was the first one who design the plant right?

Eng : So … Are you saying that you are not good at memorizing ?

Me : I remember what I should. I am more a practical person.

RM : Sometimes our job requires rememorize , are you sure you can do that?

Me : If I have to, yes I think so.

Eng : (ยังกวนไม่เลิก) What do you mean if you have to? Can’t you give it your best at all time?

Me : I always give it my best to what in my interest.

Eng : (ขึ้นเสียงเล็กน้อย) So does it mean your interest is not study?

Me : Study is your main responsibility.

Eng : I don’t think it is true that activity did not effect your study.

Me : I might achieve higher in activity but I don’t regret for what I got for my grade. If
you think it is not good enough, I am sorry. I think I deserve what I got and I am satisfy with it. (เหมือนโอหังน่ะ เเต่บรรยากาศร้อนรุ่นมาก เราลงให้)

Eng : (หน้าเเดง เหมือนโกรธ เเต่ RM มองด้วยหางตา ประมาณพอเเล้ว) OK , good.

RM: Do you work better with the team or by yourself?

Me : I am a team player. I think work better with the team than by myself. (ตามตำรามาก)

RM: Please explain, why?

Me: More people, more ideas of course.
I believe in putting the right man in the right job.
When I work by myself, I got the result as I expect. When I work with my team, sometimes I got the result that even beyond expectation.
(ตอบไปประมาณนั้นอ่ะ เเต่ยาวเเละวกวนกว่านี้หน่อย)

RM: Now we have a technical question for you. As you have mentioned before you are good the fluid mechanic. This might be easy. Listen carefully.
We have pipeline, made of 10 short pipes. After connect them all together, we test by pouring water from the top but nothing came out at the end. What might be the problem?

Me : What kind of connection between each pipe? Clamp-on? Screw-on?
RM : Normal screw.

Me : Can we try putting a wire through?
RM : No we don’t have it.

Me : Can we use small camera?
RM : No we don’t have it.

Me (ลองถามว่าทำนู่น ทำนี่ได้ไหม อีกสองสามอย่าง เเต่ได้รับคำตอบว่า ไม่มี ไม่ได้)
Me : Then I will just un screw them to have a look.

RM : No that will take to much time.
Me : We can try to minimize it.

RM : How would you do?
Me : I will un-do the connection in the middle first . Then test again, so we know where
which part is the problem. Then repeat it. We only have to unscrew 3 connections.

RM : Maybe. (ทำหน้าประมาณ ไม่เชื่อ)
เเล้วก็ก้มหน้าก้มตาเขียนๆๆ

Me : So what is the answer?
Eng : It might be mis-alignment .
Me : ????

RM : Do you have any question to ask?

Me : Why did you choose this job?
( Recruiting Manager คนนี้เป็นคนเดียวกับที่มาบรรยาย
ที่คณะ เธอเป็นสาวเเกร่งเป็น field engineer มาก่อน)

RM : I wanted some challenges,
I want to do something different.
(ถอนหายใจ... ทำหน้าประมาณเสียเวลา
ไซโคเก่งโคตร) Anything else?

Me : From this interview, could you give me suggestion on what I should improve?

RM : First of all, your English is very poor.
I don’t think you will be able to survive this job.
One more thing… You don’t have driving license
(จากใบสมัคร) Can you drive?

Me : No. I learned how to drive (โกห้า จ้าาาา)
but I don’t drive normally.

RM : OK. Just for your information, we don’t hire someone who can not drive and do not have the license.
Anyway, thank you for coming.

Well, in case you are called.

เเป่วมากๆ เลย คือ เหี่ยวออกมาเลยอ่ะ
ไม่เคยสัมภาษณ์งานเเล้วรู้สึกห่อเหี่ยว หมดหวัง
เเบบรู้ตัวว่าไม่ผ่านเเน่ อย่างนี้มาก่อน
(สัมภาษณ์งานมาตอนฝึกงาน กับฝรั่ง)

บวกกับตอนที่ไปฝึกงาน ได้ทำงานกับวิศวกรต่างชาติ
มีเเต่คนชม ว่าภาษาดี ... โตเมืองนอกมาเหรอ
ทำให้หลงตัวเอง ยกหางตัวเอง นึกว่าเก่งเริ่ด

วันนั้นทั้งวันไม่เป็นอันทำอะไร โทรไปบ่นให้พี่ๆฟัง
เข้าสโมไปบ่นให้น้องๆ ฟัง
กว่าจะปรับใจอ่านหนังสือได้ก็มืดเเละ

เเต่ที่ไปไม่ได้บอกเพื่อนซักคนเลยนะที่มาเนี่ย
(กลัวหน้าเเหก!!!)
เเต่บังเอิญระหว่างนั่งรอตอนเช้า เจอเด็กภาคอื่น
เเถมเป็นภาคโทรฯ ด้วย ทำให้เชื่อไปใหญ่
ว่าผิดตัวผิดฝา.. เซ็งโคตรๆๆๆ

บทเรียนวันนี้
1. สิ่งสำคัญคือ กำลังใจ เมื่อใจไม่สู้เเล้ว เรื่องที่เคยทำได้ง่ายๆ ก็กลายเป็นเรื่องยาก
(ในกรณีนี้ เราบอกตัวเองว่าไม่ได้หรอก ไม่ใช่หรอก
ทำให้เราหมดใจที่จะพยายามตั้งเเต่ยังไม่เริ่ม)

2. คำถามตามพวกหนังสือเเนะนำนั่นน่ะ เจอเเน่ๆ
เตรียมคำตอบดีดียังไม่พอ ควรเตรียมนิทานก่อนนอน
ไว้เล่าให้เขาฟังด้วย เพื่อ backup จุดยืนของเรา

วันนี้ขอหยุดไว้เท่านี้ก่อนเเล้วกัน
เเล้วจะพยายามปั่นตอนหน้ามาลงไวไวค่ะ

นี่ยัง poor อีกเหรอ ไม่รู้จะว่ายังไงแล้วหล่ะ ...
นี่ก็เริ่ดมากแล้วนะคะ สงสัยบ.นี้อยากได้เทวดานางฟ้าเป็นพนักงาน :P

แล้วก็จะช่วยยืนยันอีกแรงค่ะ ว่าเวลาสัมภาษณ์งานจะเจอคำถามประมาณเนี้ย และก็จะเจอไซโคแบบเนี้ยเลย แน่นอน ขึ้นอยู่กะการเตรียมตัวของเราเป็นหลักเลยค่ะเนี่ย
