If a school decides to ding applicants because of this incident, it shows that the school has a short-sight. The school over reacted. The intention of people who accessed that page was neither to destroy the system nor to take advantages of the system. The intention was to get information which was theirs and/or to do it out of curiosity. I also don't find it unethical to access the website by modifying the parameters on the url bar. If the Applyyourself don't want people to access that page, they should not program it that way. I don't think this method of accessing the website can even be called "Hacking".
