Million People Story - Kumbh Mela กุมภเมลา

ชาวอินเดียกว่า 30 ล้านคน พากันเดินทางไปร่วมพิธีล้างบาปริมฝั่งแม่น­้ำคงคา เนื่องจากเชื่อกันว่าวันนี้ (10 ก.พ.56) เป็นวันชำระบาปที่ศักดิ์สิทธิ์ที่สุดในเทศ­กาลมหากุมภเมลาที่จัดขึ้นทุกๆ 144 ปี

นักบวช ผู้แสวงบุญ และนักท่องเที่ยวกว่า 30 ล้านคน เดินทางมายังริมฝั่งแม่น้ำคงคาและยมุนาในน­ครอัลลาฮาบัด เมืองหลวงของรัฐอุตตรประเทศ เพื่อร่วมพิธีชำระล้างบาปในเทศกาลมหากุมภเ­มลา เนื่องจากวันนี้ (10 ก.พ.56) เป็นวันเมานี อมาวสยะ ซึ่งถือเป็นวันชำระบาปหลักที่สำคัญที่สุดแ­ละศักดิ์สิทธิ์ที่สุดของมหากุมภเมลาปีนี้

The Kumbh Mela is the most sacred festival for all Hindu pilgrimages. We should know why Kumbh Mela is so important, and how the local government of Allahabad prepare for the event that over 100 million people will come and join during 55 days of the festival, January 14 - March 10, 2013

February 10, 2013 would be claimed important for Maha Shivratri. Hindu devotees from across the country celebrated with ritual bathing and prayers. This year, Hindus claimed Mauni Amavasya Shahi Snan, the most important for Kumbh Mela, so they call this day "Maha Kumbh Mela" It was said the holiest one that occurs on the 12 cycle of the 12 years, or once every 144 years. Holy Snan or bathing in "Sangam" is of great importance. They believed that it washes away all the sins and the cycle of rebirth, and also death ends as the soul becomes one with God. Over 30 million devotees and ascetics took holy dip on this most auspicious day. Bathing festival ended on March 10, 2013.
