How are you today? วันนี้คุณเป็นอย่างไรบ้าง?
Are you OK? I hope so! คุณสบายดีนะ? ผมหวังเช่นนั้น!
Are you happy? I hope so! คุณมีความสุขดีใช่ไหม? ผมก็หวังเช่นนั้น!
In this lesson; we will look at two actions, which many of us do, although may be not as often as we should. ในบทนี้ เราจะเรียนเกี่ยวกับ 2 สิ่งซึ่งเราต้องทำ แม้ว่าในชีวิตจริงเราอาจจะไม่ได้ทำมันเท่าที่ควร
Today we talk about saying... 'Please' and 'Thank you'. วันนี้เราจะพูดถึงการพูด "ได้โปรด" และ "ขอบคุณ"
We usually say please when asking for something, or as a polite (nice) way of saying yes to an offer. เรามักจะพูดคำว่า "please" เวลาที่เราร้องขอบางสิ่งบางอย่าง หรือ เพื่อตอบว่า ใช่ อย่างสุภาพ ต่อข้อเสนอ
'Please can I watch some TV?' ได้โปรดขอฉันดูทีวีได้ไม๊
'Can I please go out to play?' ได้โปรดขอให้ฉันออกไปเล่นได้ไม๊
'May I please leave the room?' ผมขออนุญาติออกจากห้องได้ไม๊
'Could I please have some icecream?' ได้โปรดขอให้ฉันทานไอศกรีมได้ไม๊
'Would you like some icecream?' 'Oh yes please!' คุณอยากทานไอศกรีมไม๊ โอ ใช่เลย ได้โปรด
'Do you want something to eat?' 'Yes I would please!' คุณอยากรับประทานอะไรหน่อยไม๊ ใช่เลย ได้โปรดเถอะ
'Can I offer you a cup of coffee?' 'Oh please that would be great!' คุณจะรับกาแฟซักหน่อยไม๊ โอ เยี่ยมมากเลย ได้โปรด
The word please can be used to show satisfaction and pleasure. คำว่า Please สามารถใช้แสดงความพึงพอใจ
'I'm pleased with my new house.' ชั้นชอบบ้านใหม่ของชั้น
'This job pleases me.' ชั้นพอใจกับงานนี้
'Your music gives me pleasure.' ดนตรีของคุณทำให้ชั้นพอใจ
'I'm very pleased to meet you.' ชั้นดีใจมากที่ได้พบคุณ
From those few examples you can see that 'please' and 'pleasure' are closely related in origin but are sometime used in completely different ways. จากตัวอย่างที่ผ่านมา คุณจะรู้ว่า 'Please' กับ 'Pleasure' นั้นเป็นรากศัพท์เดียวกันแต่ในบางครั้งจะถูกใช้แตกต่างกัน
If something makes you pleased, you can see that you feel... uplifted, perked, chuffed, Gladdened, Overjoyed, Over the moon. ถ้ามีบางสิ่งที่ทำให้คุณพอใจ, คุณสามารถพูดได้ว่าคุณรู้สึก... uplifted, perked, chuffed, Gladdened, Overjoyed, Over the moon.
'Saying Thank You' การพูดขอบคุณ
The action of saying 'thank you' is seen as the most polite way of showing how grateful you are for receiving something or as a way of acknowledging an act of kindness. การพูดขอบคุณ เป็นการแสดงออกถึงความรู้สึกอยากขอบคุณ อย่างสุภาพ สำหรับบางสิ่งที่คุณได้รับ หรือ เป็นเพื่อวิธีที่จะตอบแทนในความกรุณานั้น
We say 'thank you' to show our appreciation. เราพูด 'ขอบคุณ' เพื่อแสดงความพึงพอใจ
By saying 'thank you', you... show your gratitude. การพูดขอบคุณ ก็เป็นการแสดงความกตัญญูได้ด้วย
You express your appreciation. คุณแสดงออกถึงความพึงพอใจ
You acknowledge the kindness. คุณตอบสนองในความกรุณา
You return the generosity verbally. คุณตอบแทนความเอื้ออาทรด้วยวาจา
You offer your sincerest thanks. คุณเสนอคำขอบคุณด้วยความจริงใจ
You are grateful. คุณรู้สึกขอบคุณ
There are many ways to say 'thank you'... 'Thank you', 'Thank you very much.', 'Thanks alot.', 'Thank you so much.', 'Thanks a bundle.', 'You are too kind.', 'Thanks ever such a lot.', 'Cheers!', 'Ta very much!', มีหลายวิธีที่จะพูดขอบคุณ ... ..
Sometime we may express surprise and joy, as well as showing our thanks. บางครั้งเราอาจจะแสดงอาการแปลกใจและมีความสุข รวมไปถึง แสดงความขอบคุณ 'Wow! how kind... thank you!' 'That's good of you...cheers!' 'I don't know what to say...thanks a lot!' 'I'm overwhelmed...thank you so much!' 'What can I say?' 'You are the best!' 'Thank you very much!' 'This present is so nice!' 'Oh you shouldn't have'

I appear to be in the wrong lesson... mmm, how embarrassing...I suppose I had better go. ผมรู้สึกว่าผมจะมาผิดที่นะ เขินจัง ผมรู้สึกว่าผมต้องไปแล้วล่ะ
Saying 'thank you' is the best way to show your grattitude to another person. การพูดขอบคุณเป็นวิธีที่ดีที่สุดที่จะแสดงความขอบคุณต่อผู้อื่น
It is a polite thing to do. มันเป็นความสุภาพอ่อนน้อมที่จะทำ
To acknowledge someone's kindness is a nice thing to do. การตอบแทนความกรุณาของผู้อื่นเป็นสิ่งที่ดีที่จะทำ
And don't forget...kindness creates more kindness. และอย่าลืม ความกรุณาก่อให้เกิดความกรุณาที่มากกว่า
