NESVITA WELLNESS DAY FOR MISS EARTH 2008 CANDIDATES

Twenty candidates for Miss Earth 2008 Beauty Pageant went to Fitness First Gym in SM North Edsa for their annual NESVITA WELLNESS DAY. The event was sponsored by the #1 health drink today, Nesvita.

Work out session started at 10am. The ladies did a 45 minute aerobic dance lesson with one of the top instructor of Fitness First. Then a series of exercises for mind and body followed. Miss Bhutan showcased her expertise in Yoga while Miss Spain tells everyone that she really did enjoy the mind and body routine and want to stay longer but they need to wrap up by noon for another event at 1p.m.

After work out, the candidates treated to a buffet lunch at Burgoo located at the 3rd level of the mall.

UNVEILING THE WONDERS OF THE EARTH

On Tuesday, Oct 28, 2008, at 10a.m, the poolside of Traders Hotel Manila, the official residence of Miss Earth 2008 delelgates, will be the venue for the Press Presentation of this year's roster of Miss Earth beauties. Around 85 environmental diplomats from around the world will parade in their swimsuits declare their personal environmental campaigns and show the press and the world why they are hailed as "beauties for a cause".

Now on it's 8th year, Miss Earth is focusing on the green lifestyle, where daily eco-friendly habits are being propagated, Miss Earth 2007 Jessica Nicole Trisko of Canada has been spreading this message as well as climate change awareness throughout her reign. She has gone to the USA, Puerto Rico, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore and China to promote this campaign and has also invited countless schools through the " I Love the Planet Earth" project of the Miss Earth Foundation, headed by its Executive Director Ms. Catherine Untalan.

Carousel Productions, Inc. President Mr. Ramon Monzon announced that the young ladies this year will be more aggressive in promoting the causes of Miss Earth. "The times call for urgent action. With the onslaught of global economic slowdown, wee need to spread the message that adopting a simoer lifestyle, oner that respects the bounderies of environment exploit, can help ease the effects of the crisis. All the delegates represents the countries which in one way or another are affected by thjis diversity. In thjis quandary we can find an opportunioty and that is to think of new ways on how to use our natural resources wisely. A rich environment is integral to economic progress", he emphasized. Miss Lorainne Schuck, CPI Executive VP , further added, " Our audience can expect broader campaign activities of Miss Earth delegates in order to reach all sectors. To cite one such activity, our reigning queens visited Philippine Stock Exhange on Oct. 3 to impart to the business leaders of the country that we mean business when it comes to environment protection, and that their participation is very much required".

Coronation Night will be on November 9, 2008 at 6pm at the Clark Expo Amphitheatre, Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga and will be aired ober ABS CBN Channel 2 at 10p.m. and at later date in the countries in Asia, Middle East, ocenia, Europe, and North America covered by the footprint of the Filipino Channel and also in local televisions of participating countries.
