Miss Earth 2005 Launching, September, 2005 The world will soon be watching the Philippines as more than eighty (80) international beauties from around the globe gathers in Manila this October. Carousel Productions officially announced the forthcoming MISS EARTH BEAUTY PAGEANT 2005 to both media and business partners last night, 16th of September at Carousel Gardens. Present at the launching event were Carousel Productions and ABS-CBN executives. They were joined by the reigning Miss Earth, Priscilla Meirelles and the Philippiness representative to this years Miss Earth beauty pageant. Miss Philippines Earth 2005 Gennebelle Rangas together with her royal court and Miss Philippines Earth past winners. Miss Earth Beauty Pageant will be staged on the 23rd of October at the University of the Philippines Theater with live telecast on ABS-CBN Channel 2 as well as the TFC Channel and STAR TV covering more than 50 countries on a delayed telecast. The pageant theme will focus on the rich cultural aspect of the country to show the international audience the beauty of the Philippines. Last year we had about 60 candidates. This time we will be having more than eighty countries and it is overwhelming how warm the reception is as we get the support of new and existing Franchise Holders from Europe, Africa, the Americas, Asia and from the Oceana. Executive Vice President, Lorraine Schuck continues to beam. It even amazes us to hear about Miss Earth being recognized as one of the most significant beauty pageants in the whole world. President of Carousel Productions, Ramon Monson also remarked, The pride that we have is not just the success of Miss Earth internationally but because the pageant has its roots here in the Philippines. For this we would like to thank the Filipino people for having given us the necessary support. While people around the globe speak of Miss Earth, they also speak about the Philippines. As a matter of fact we get to have more foreign guests coming in to watch the Pageant live. When asked about Miss Earth Beauty Pageant being hosted outside the Philippines, Monzon stated that a lot of offers from different countries are coming in to host the 2006 Pageant. Other than this, several countries are already considering 2007, 2008 and 2009 and proposals kept going. The advantage of Miss Earth over other pageants is the environmental mission it claims and the need to draw the attention of the people to it. Countries such as England, Sweden, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Australia, Chile, China and Brazil are some countries too eager to consider hosting Miss Earth not only because they get the support from their Tourism Office as well as the business sectors but because they value most the environment. Now that Miss Earth was officially launched, Carousel Productions as already preparing for the arrival of the Miss Earth delegates by the end of September. Indeed, five year old Miss Earth Beauty Pageant is no easy task but because of key partners - this years Presentor, PONDS of Unilever Philippines; Official Residence Hyatt Hotel and Casino Manila, Official Make up Artist & Hairstylist Gandang Ricky Reyes Chain of Salons; the Official Photographer New City Studio; Official Insurance Provider Cocolife and Official Ocean Cruise Carrier Superferry. Miss Earth continues to make a milestone in the beauty pageant history.
