The 7th Annual Andy Roddick Foundation Charity Weekend has come to a close, and the foundation will be opening many more doors of opportunity to children in need thanks to all of your support!
On Saturday evening at the dinner-dance and auction, Andy, Boyd Tinsley of the Dave Matthews Band, Maria Sharapova, and Brenda Schultz all came together to help raise funds and have a good time with all 475 guests in attendance. When the guests walked in, they were escorted by the Marines, received a glass of champagne and had the opportunity to get their picture taken with the Davis Cup. A variety of silent auction items such as sports memorabilia, vacations, and dinner certificates were up for the taking during cocktail hour, followed by the live auction during dinner with 13 lucky winners. One of those winners was Mrs. Roddick, and she was the lucky lady who won the first dance with Andy, which was purchased by Maria Sharapova for her. Then, a dance with Maria was auctioned off. With everyones dancing shoes on in the season of giving, they celebrated their success by burning up the dance floor. On Sunday, the foundation had the free Kids Zone in the morning and then Andy played in celebrity exhibition matches with Maria, Davis Cup compatriot James Blake, Brenda, and Boyd. All 2,000 fans enjoyed mixed doubles, singles matches, and a super tie break, and the fans also had a chance to get the players autographs throughout the day. At the end, a group of giving fans stepped up to the baseline to attempt to take the heat of three of Andys rocket serves.
Thanks to all of the generous people who helped make this weekend the huge success that it was in helping children today for tomorrow.

Just because he will be competitively idle most of this month does not mean American tennis star Andy Roddick will be on vacation during his day and a half in Brevard County.
The world's sixth-ranked men's player, Roddick is the featured attraction today at the OMNI Healthcare/Harris Rally with Roddick charity event at the Kiwi Tennis Club in Indian Harbour Beach. The event's organizers have found plenty to do for Roddick, who is donating his time for the event's beneficiaries.
The featured match in the sold-out exhibition is a doubles match with Roddick and three other Florida-based United States pros: Amir Delic, Robert Kendrick and Jesse Levine. That is scheduled to start at about 7:15 p.m.
Before that, Roddick, who recently led the U.S. to its first Davis Cup title since 1995, will be part of a 6 p.m. pro-am exhibition. In the afternoon, Roddick will conduct a clinic for children affiliated with the groups benefiting from the event, CATCH of Brevard and Brevard Neighborhood Development Coalition.
Roddick also will have autograph and media sessions. Sunday night, he attended a sponsors' dinner at the club.
The exhibition, believed to be the first men's pro tennis event in Brevard County, was the brainchild of Kiwi-based pro Tracy Almeda-Singian. A former touring pro, Almeda-Singian had previoiusly trained with Roddick during their junior playing days.
Almeda-Singian said the event has raised more than $200,000 for the charities. The limited amount of public tickets, priced at $150 each, sold out the first day they were available.
"The good thing is, the money stays in the area," she said.
