เนื้อความต้นเรื่อง **** Dunno if it's true, but an acquintance of mine (who's close friends with Damien) told me that Lisa quit Damien's band half an hour before the gig in Munich.
See also the Munich gig (she hasn't appeared either, see also the gig thread here). What's really strange, too, is that at all those gigs in Germany Damien didn't want the air conditioner to be running ("too loud", he's been quoted) so all those poor people had to stay in a very heated climate which was absolutely terrifying for some. Hence all the sweat...made me wonder as well!! Hendrik
**** I absolutely can't imagine her quitting just like that. I mean, I COULD imagine her quitting the band, but not half an hour before a gig. Maybe they got into a fight, but if so, it could as well be just temporary. I don't believe that. Not until Damien or any of the other band members confirms it. **** Lisa is said to be in Munich for the sound check but two hours later not on stage. Listening to the Munich show I cannot believe that there has been struggle whatsoever with Lisa one hour before the show has started.
What kind of character is Damien? Is he that damn cool he seems to be? Does it have any effect on him and his performance?
I cannot find out. When I listen to 9 Crimes, Volcano, Rootless Tree and The Professor with La Fille danse I always miss Lisa's voice, which fits so well and makes these songs to special moments of any performance.
She is one of the big points to define himself from other artists like e.g. James Blunt or Tom McRae. I instantly hope that Damien does not misprize Lisa's part in his success and popularity among us fans.
I'm curious for all what Lisa will bring out next, she is one of the most talented young female artists. Therefore, for me, Damien without Lisa is like self-mutilation . Foryou
**** Check the gigs section guys... Lisa was not at the Milan show... This person asked Vyv before the show and she said Lisa hadn't really really quit but was not gonna be at the show... borneoman
**** Band update - 25 Mar 2007 After much thought and discussion Damien has decided that his professional relationship with Lisa Hannigan has run its creative course. As a result Lisa will not be appearing at any of the upcoming live shows. Lisa is embarking on her own artistic endeavours and there are no plans for them to work together in the foreseeable future. The current band on tour at the moment are - Damien Rice, Joel Shearer, Shane Fitzsimons, Tom Osander & Vyvienne Long.

**** Dear Lisa... I stood frozen when I heard the news you wouldn't be performing with Damien any more.... I still cannot believe it but after reading the statement on dr.com site it seems to be the inevitable truth. Why oh why does this beautiful symbiosis has to end this harsh way? I ADORE your voice... It's so fragile... whenever I hear it, it instantly melts away my worries and fears and makes me close my eyes and float away on the notes. No other voice has ever done that to me. The way your voice adds to the 'raw' voice of Damien is unique and cannot be replaced. It's like Yin Yang, So different but combined create such a chemistry that it keeps amazing everyone who has the luck to come in contact with it. but now... this appears to be a thing of the past... and Ive never had the good fortune to personally experience this up close. (and boy I've tried! 3x!) I do not know what happened and maybe it really is time for you and Damien to explore other opportunities separately but I really do hope that the decision was not a hasty one. Therefore I wish you and Damien the best off luck with your endeavours where ever it may take you. But please keep sharing your talents with the world... both of you.... the world needs it. Sogree2

**** Thats cool Lisa, im sure all of us Eskimo's will be closely monitoring whatever you decide to do next. As Emmett says this place may be a Damien Rice fansite but im sure all of us here love everything youve done with both Damien and on your own and will continue to support you into the future.
