Taste กับ Flavor ถ้าเห็นสองคำนี้ ความหมายแรกที่เรานึกถึงคือคำว่า "รสชาติ" เหมือนกัน แต่จริงๆคำว่า
"taste" นั้นเป็นรสที่เรารับรู้ได้ด้วยลิ้นเท่านั้น เช่น หวาน เปรี้ยว เค็ม ขม และอูมามิ ในขณะที่
"flavour" เป็นรสชาติที่เป็นการผสมผสานระหว่างการรับรู้ทั้งจากลิ้น จมูก และประสาทสัมผัสอื่น คือต้องมีทั้งรส กลิ่น เนื้อสัมผัส ฯลฯ จึงจะเป็น flavor

1. หวาน
sweet /swiːt/ (adj.) (สวีทฺ)
a pleasant taste that is characteristic of sugar or honey. Chocolate and ice cream are examples of sweet food.

2. เปรี้ยว
sour /saʊər/ (adj.) ( เซาเวอรฺ )
sour has an acidic taste like lemon or fruit that is not ready to eat. You should add more sugar to the drink because it's sour.

3. เค็ม
salty /ˈsɒl.ti/ (adj.) (ซอลฺที)
tasting of salt or containing a lot of salt

bitter /ˈbɪt.ər/ (adj.) (บิเทอรฺ)
having a slightly stinging, strong taste, not salty or sweet

Black coffee without sugar is often bitter.

The astringent flavor is found in tea, unripe fruit, nutmeg, rosemary, green apples, spinach and lentils.

5. รสอร่อย กลมกล่อม
Umami /uːˈmɑː.mi/ nouns (อูมามิ)
a strong taste that is not sweet, sour, salty, or bitter and that is often referred to as "the fifth taste"
The soup were seasoned to perfection with an umami rich salt.
The broth was rich and smooth with lots of umami flavours.

not having a strong taste or character or not showing any interest or energy.

It seems to be without any flavour. Most rice cakes are bland when eaten alone.

8. เผ็ด

has a strong taste because spices (such as ginger, cumin, etc.) have been added to it.

savoury food is salty or spicy and not sweet in taste
