Turn on/Turn off VS Open/ Close

Turn on / Turn off

ใช้ Turn on / Turn off (หรือ switch on - switch off) เมื่อหมายถึง เปิด-ปิด"ระบบหรือการทำงาน"ของเครื่องมืออุปกรณ์ (ไฟ้ฟ้า) นั้นๆเพื่อให้ทำงานหรือหยุดทำงาน

to turn on (phrasal verb)

turn on = เปิด

ตัวอย่าง

Can you turn on the TV? 
คุณเปิดทีวีได้ไหม

Could you please turn on the light?
ช่วยเปิดไฟหน่อยได้ไหม

She turned on the TV.
เธอเปิดทีวี

You can turn on the machine by pressing this button.
คุณสามารถเปิดเครื่องได้โดยกดปุ่มนี้
 

to turn off (phrasal verb)

turn off = ปิด

ตัวอย่าง

She turned off all the lights before she left the house. 
เธอปิดไฟทุกดวงก่อนออกจากบ้าน

Please turn off the radio. / Please turn the radio off.

***เราสามารถพูดได้ 2 แบบ Turn on the radio/ Turn the radio on หรือ Turn off the radio / Turn the radio off

Open / Close

หากใช้กับการเปิด-ปิดสิ่งทั่วๆไปที่ไม่ได้มีระบบกลไกหรือวงจรอะไร เราก็จะใช้คำว่า open / close เช่น "open the door" - เปิดประตู,  "open the bag" - เปิดกระเป๋า,   "close the lid" -ปิดฝา, หรือ  "close the drawer" - ปิดลิ้นชัก เป็นต้น 
 

to open (verb)

open = เปิด (แต่เราจะไม่ใช้คำนี้กับอุปกรณ์อิเล็กทรอนิกส์ใดๆ)

to close (verb)

close = ปิด (แต่เราจะไม่ใช้คำนี้กับอุปกรณ์อิเล็กทรอนิกส์ใดๆ)
