At a first glance this chair looks very fragile, but I’m pretty sure that is not made to be broken. According to Dezeen, Japanese designers Nendo will present this chair made of thin steel rods at an exhibition of their work in Milan next week ( Freshome Will Be Attending Milan Design Week 2010 ). Called Wire-chair, the product is finished in layers of hand-polished powder coating. This chair is a development of their Cord-chair project ( see it here), which featured hollowed-out pieces of wood on a steel frame. The new finish also heightens the chair’s flexibility of use: the resulting durability and water resistance of the finish allow the wire chair to be used outdoors, and the colour selected. These modifications bring fresh charm to an already innovative chair. Finally could this be the the thinnest chair in the world?
