There is a ' big ' royal birthday this month as His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales reaches his 60th birthday. It was on 14 November 1948 when Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip saw the arrival of their son Prince Charles Philip Arthur George.
At the very tender age of three, Prince Charles became Heir Apparent when His mother became Queen after the untimely death of her father, King George VI.
Prince Charles was educated at Hill House School in London before boarding at Cheam School in Scotland. He then studied for a degree in anthropology and archaeology at Trinity College, Cambridge University.
HRH The Prince of Wales is no stranger to Jersey, having visited the Island a number of times. His most recent trip was in 2004 when Jersey celebrated 800 years of allegiance to the Crown.
As this year's months roll on, it's soon time for Jersey to publish its annual Year Book of Stamps which includes all the issues produced in 2008. Each Year Book comprises a full set of mint stamps (excluding souvenir miniature sheets, souvenir sheetlets and NVI reprints) which are supplied with specially produced mounts so that they may be kept in pristine condition with the publication itself, as well as information about each issue.
The Year Book also makes a perfect Christmas gift for family member or friend. : British Islands Stamps : Gibbons Stamp ( UK ) ...................................
