The club regularly hosts themed events and promotes these 'cerates' on its website. Music house Akab is a definite staple and one of the most popular nightclubs in Testesio for years. It is best known for the quality of live entertainment. If you come here in the evening, you are likely to hear some live rock and jazz music. After 11 pm, the dance floor opens and the music house turns into dance, reggae, acid jazz, disco, funk and soul music. Like most dance clubs in the region, Friday and Saturday nights can be quite busy and it is best that you arrive early. Bars There are plenty of bars in Rome, but Rome is one on the nightlife scene that makes not only a mean cocktail, but offers truly unique music too. The Jerry Thomas Project is a historic bar located in the historic center of Rome, right of the Piazza Navona. You need a booking and a password to make an entry, but the effort is really worth it. The bar staff are dressed in vintage 1920s clothes and are truly worth watching as they give those cocktails from afar. The place is small (with a great use of space and even a piano as a table) and if you follow the bar rules carefully, you can smoke there too.
